Ty Gibbs Is a Bad Person

Should honestly make him stay in Xfinity for another year, and find someone else for the 18 car in 2023. Show him his actions have consequences. It’s how you make a driver learn.

Maybe bring in Ryan Preece or Newman for a season and shake the car down

Except when you are freakin raised in a high profile racing family and you have been groomed for this for years, then damn right I expect a LOT more out if him. Did Kyle Petty act like him? Dale Jarrett, Dale Jr, Ricky Hendrick, Chase Elliott, William Byron, Eric Jones, and on and on? The kid MAY turn it around, but right now he is an entitled privileged punk that needs a thorough dressing down until he understands that neither the world , NASCAR or JGR revolves around him. This is about more than him just being a jerk, it's about the damage he did to JGR's and Toyota's efforts in the Xfinity Series. If he didn't fully understand the situation, then he truly has no business in a Cup car.
I think Ty, Toyota, JGR, etc., will survive.
The kid has a lot of growing up to do.

Raise your hand if you didn’t do stupid crap when you were 19.
I’m glad there were no cameras when I was 19.
Punting his teammate was a dick move. This isn’t the brightest 19 year old I’ve ever seen.
He’s going to be around for a while.
Let’s hope he learns and redeems himself.

If he's too young/immature to handle the spotlight, maybe he should race late models at his local short track until he hits puberty, then give NASCAR a shot once he can finally act like an adult

Noah is on an absolute evisceration tour.

These two need to be competitive in cup ASAP.

Let's rewind shall we, Ty races Larson at Road America with all the respect for the win does it clean with "maturity", and nascar fans are ready to throw Gragson under the bus for intentionally wrecking Sage Karam causing a pile up. So all of this is rich coming from Gragson.

Now, we get to Martinsville where no one has ever made a mistake dive bombing someone on entry ever :sarcasm:, and the outrage is off the charts because it's Ty Gibbs and it's on a teammate (but we hate team orders and playoffs).

It's very clear many nascar fans have already made their mind up they're going to hate this kid no matter what he does, and that's fine do your thing the sport needs villains and rivalries.

You have left a whole lot out my friend.

I thought Noah was wrong at Road America.

I thought Ty was wrong at Martinsville.

Now, you call it a “dive bomb.” But Ty said he was trying to move him, so it’s not a dive bomb when you’re trying to move someone. A dive bomb would be like what happened with Ryan Newman, Clint, Jeff, and Jimmie a few years ago. Totally not what happened here.

Ty hit Jones so hard the hood buckled. Yeah he only wanted to "move him" into the damn wall.

A dive bomb to me could be either intentional or unintentional, I do believe he intentionally meant to drive it in deep on B Jones expecting him to do the same except he didn't, he was a little conservative getting in which made it seem a worse punt. I actually believe Ty this time when he said he wanted to move him "but not like that" since they had been bumping and banging on the late race restarts, I don't think he wanted to wipe him out that way but that's what ended up happening.

Either way that was Ty's bad and I'd have no problem if Brandon sent him packing at Phoenix that'd be justified imo.

My only issue with Road America is that a lot of innocent cars got wrapped up in it. Karem is an ass hat on the track and deserved to get wrecked. I also don't think you will hear Noah defend his actions there. Ty does a much more stupid move from a situational awareness standpoint and then doubled on the whole thing until he finally got called on the carpet. I'm sorry, but only someone who is a totally self involved douche bag wrecks his teammate for a meaningless win, then does a burnout for the ages and then eggs on the booing crowd. Even Dale Earnhardt would at least fake some remorse when he did do something that jerky.

Yes he left out one drives a "rice burner" and one drives a Chevy. lol

Ty fly's into the pits when people are present and fights Sam Mayer on pit road with his helmet on after contact on the cool down lap (yellow).
Door slams Ty Dillon in the pits with people present (didn't learn the first time) Penalized in both cases.
No amount of rice burning can fix stupid.

All true. Can you imagine how bad its gonna look if he whips those 3 Jr. Motorsports Chevys Sat day?

Ty became an asshat to me when he door slammed Ty Dillon and almost maimed an official or two along with crew members on pit road.

He's got issues for sure
Maybe, but for me it goes past “Ty can be the villain nascar needs”, no he can’t. I think fans when they picture a villain...it’s on track, with hard driving other competitors and maybe occasionally “moving” a guy out of the way while embracing the boos that come with it. This kid isn’t that..comes off as entitled, clueless, whiny, tantrum throwing....and a touch of a tv evangelist thrown in too, with bringing his faith into it whenever he feels the heat when one of his moronic decisions backfire. I don’t think he’s a bad person like how the thread says, he just has a lot of maturing to do imo.

It was funny in the DJD Jr said his biggest deal this week was making sure Sam doesn't take out the 54 Saturday. Sam has nothing to lose and 3 teammates to run for a championship

I forgot about that one, probably his worst move of the season and glad nothing happened there, that had the potential to be bad.

Even though Ty took his teammate out of the playoffs, the rule has always been in the Championship race you better not be involved with shenanigans with the Championship contenders. That is the way NASCAR looks at it, so Sam does face fines and suspension if he gets involved. You may think thats right or wrong but that's the rule.

how can Gibbs talk about his faith in glowing terms and then act like an idiot? Hypocrite.

Call him Ty Trump. TT. Double T.

Yes, I agree with about all comments. This guy might not recover from this bad deserved image or might take a long time. I really don't know how he was raised or spoiled. But I happened to be on a garage tour this week and Joe came into work and talked to all of us. Even mentioned this and seemed unhappy to have to deal with it all. I have to say that I liked Joe Gibbs. But this kid seems to be in his on world and it's not a good one. He better learn a hard lesson quick.

This place consistently disappoints me with the lack of a sense of humor. My memes are funny.
