NASCAR Cup Series Championship Pre-Race Thread

I dunno I don’t agree. Kyle says more good quotes about sprint cars and what not. The wall ride is kinda embarrassing in a lot of other racing disciplines lol.
That isn't the tweets that I am reading. Add IndyCar and F-1 to that also.

Will that reach last a long long time?
Maybe it doesnt. But as I said to our friend @AdoubleU24, it's a situation the sport really hasn't been in, in quite a bit. I'd rather we ride this wave ride as much as it can be ridden, and find out that it doesn't reach, rather than just assume that it won't.

This is why I've grown to love Logano. He's basically doing the host's job here.

I watched some other interviews. He's definitely the most confident out of the four. We'll see what happens

The host did her job just fine by just sitting there. :dirtbike:

Such an odd group lol, I don't think any of them have any kind of relationship. I could see maybe Chase and Bell just cause of the whole dirt racing thing but I've never seen any of these guys talk to eachother. Thought it was a decent watch though.

This moment was ridiculously viral and Ross is the first driver to reach as far as he did in a long long time.

It's a big deal.

According to one of our fellow posters, it will last until Hailie Deegan wins a Cup race which will be The Greatest Day in NASCAR History.

In other words ... quite a while.

That dudes post count will reach stratospheric proportions..
If she wins, of course...

Oh, good, it sounds like Chase doesn't have to worry about his job. I'm relieved.
Well, you can make jokes, but I'll go to war with guys with Chase's attitude. I get so damn sick and tired of the nothing is ever "MY" fault mentality that permeates so much of society as a whole and sports especially. Real leaders have broad shoulders.

Well, he may BE fascinating talking about sprint cars. I generally don't hear them.

This. And Logano absolutely played dad of the group there, at least for these two minutes.

Full on lead the discussion and even attempted to bring Chase and Bell into it.

Point taken, sorry. Just a defensive reaction I guess. For as many fans as Chase has, there are an equal number that just like to take shots at him.
Including himself, tbh.

It's simple. Personality. Bell and Elliott seldom move the needle although Bell was throwing a bit of shade lately. Chastain same thing fairly quiet, soft spoken.
Logano is not quiet, never has been, very outgoing and the press loves him because he will talk.

It was a fun interview.. Logano carried.

Not sure how much of this one I'll actually watch. It'll be solely focused on the final 4, as it probably should be. So if your driver isn't in the final four, you probably wont hear their name mentioned. Even with as many winners as we've had, the chances of someone else winning the race are pretty slim. I don't care who wins as I don't really care for any of the drivers, so football may be what's on my tv during the race. ...Not that anyone cares. 🙂

Still bitter about Larson flubbing the Roval. If he finished where he was running, he'd have the best average these playoffs, and the most points scored during these playoffs. Would be the favorite again, which bodes well for 2023 - 5 team looks to be a powerhouse.

But even still, not sure. Bell has momentumz but I think the 22 and 1 are the favorites.

Ross was great here in the spring, and is probably the hungriest driver of the four.

Logano is the best of the four, and is the most clutch in the sport. Joey is due for another one.

As far as the 9, something is missing in terms of speed, and Chase doesn't sound confident whatsoever. But win or lose, I hope the Elliott fans here handle it with class.

He hopes we handle it with class, while literally every one of his posts is still bitching about how Larson was eliminated…. I kid @jaqua19 , nothing but love for you.

After seeing practice chart, I’m going in with ZERO expectations. The 9 bunch just doesn’t have “it.” It does show that this new car isn’t as easy to cheat up: the top 4 are not the top of the charts, which is weird

I think it'll be Chase Elliott. He's just so good at Phoenix.

Not to mention, NASCAR has bad luck and is never able to capitalize on big moments. Chase Elliott is the most mundane outcome possible to this championship, so that's what it will be.
I wish I had one ounce of your confidence. I still think Logano quietly wins

Not so fast my friend, he was 2nd in 15 lap avg. Zero expectations is probably best just because of the format but he'll at least be there when it counts imo.

Drove an hour from Mesa this morning just to check out the merch haulers and stuff. Get there and the entire midway is gated off to where you have to have a ticket to the race just to access the haulers, etc. I've never seen any other track do things that way, not even when the final 4 was in Miami. We left. Huge disappointment.

That’s absolutely asinine

I find the new Phoenix renovations to be kinda dumb myself. It’s my closest track besides LVMS & Kansas.
