2025 NASCAR TV contract

Everyone forgets that we're talking about a sport that already doesn't have many viewers, and very few 18-49 viewers.

We're lucky that races being on Fox and NBC over the air is even part of the discussion.

I’m not gonna have a discussion with someone who doesn’t understand another persons point of view and I’m not even gonna give you the benefit of the doubt.

You have a position, I had a different position. I didnt call you names or make fun of you ,no more than a "lol" just like you did to me. I didnt take offense to that. I understood your point but the facts I presented somehow upset you.

Fair enough. I don’t agree with streaming exclusive and you do, that’s fine, but I probably won’t pay for it.

If nascar want more fans have all races on the major networks. Noone is paying for all these stream apps like come on. Ppl got sick of paying for cable and now we are heading rught back to that same boat

I like the coverage we got. Maybe try a Turner Sports Summer Series again soon in 30 years or get ESPN/ABC involved soon.

Advertisers don't seem too depressed about tonight's NFL game, starring Trevor Lawrence and Sauce Gardner, being on Amazon Prime.

Advertisers prefer advertising to people who can buy their products. Complaining about races being on Peacock isn’t a good indicator that NASCAR fans are those people.

It’s an extra $5/month during NBC’s half of the season. 95% of you can find an extra $20 in their budget.

As I have said before, if NASCAR's going to go streaming, it needs to be on a platform that people actually have. Streaming, if done right, can be the vehicle to boost NASCAR's growth again.

Few people have Peacock, the service is a failure.

I'd go exposure as well as money

All things considered NASCAR has one of the most fan-friendly TV packages around already, behind probably only the NFL and golf. Look at every major sport beyond those and they have a heavy balance of streaming and cable coverage (and Bally Sports is a disaster). If they put a couple of Cup races plus some Xfinity on Peacock it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

I dont know about that.

In a Tuesday interview with CNBC's David Faber, NBCUniversal chief executive Jeff Shell disclosed an updated subscriber tally for Peacock, saying the streaming service now has 15 million paid subscribers and 30 million monthly active accounts.

Bally Sports is a disaster

Sinclair, baby. Sinclair.

Try being a Carolina Hurricanes fan IN North Carolina.

Try being an Orioles or Nationals fan in North Carolina. No MASN on most providers, no MLB.TV options, nothing.

But it might cost $25 total to watch some races, the horror.

I am all in on Peacock Premium. I use it mainly for the sports and racing.
Dont do the shows or movies though.

15 million compared to Disney's combined (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+) 174 million, HBO Max's 50 million, and Paramount Plus' 30 million.

The service is a failure

Yeah $75 Million a month is a failure. You cant make this shat up! Not a failure by any stretch

I worry though with the age of the fanbase it’d be a disaster. My grandparents cannot figure out how to watch games on Prime which is extremely well advertised, let alone NASCAR

I've had Peacock for 6 months or so. Strictly NASCAR and IndyCar so far. So far I haven't been interested in or attracted to their other programming. Heck, I don't even care about the $5 during the off-season. On those days when my fridge at work is depleted, I'll spend more than that on Diet Pepsi from the vending machines.

$5 isn’t a big deal but it would be better spent on supporting NASCAR style sponsors instead like better oil haha

Peacock is probably my most used app. Love all the NBC shows and some others they have on demand, been watching a lot of Yellowstone and 30 Rock

How many Peacock Premium subscribers will there be when it’s no longer included with Xfinity or Spectrum?

I’m not opposed to steaming. But to call Peacock a success, I don’t know about that.

Comcast is invested too deep in Peacock to pull the plug. It’s staying for that reason.

Plus, there is the possibility Comcast buys up WB in 2024-25.

15 million paid subscribers. That doesn’t count Xfinity and Spectrum subscribers.

HBO Max is being gutted. Of the apps listed, I’d say WB Discovery’s Max will be the biggest failure. Zaslav is taking away everything people love about the app and pushing reality TV content. I get it free so I don’t care, but if the AT&T deal goes away, I’ll spend my money on Peacock instead.

It’d cost me $40/month or $380/year to watch the Lightning/Magic/Rays with the Bally standalone services, since I can’t get them on YouTubeTV. I’m not pulling the trigger on that anytime soon.

The appeal of Prime is to a younger audience thanks to the existing subscriber base.

This past week in the NFL:

CBS 1 PM regional coverage - 14.832M overall/4.345M 18-49

Prime TNF - 10.311M/4.67M

Prime has outperformed MNF and Sunday regional coverage in the younger demos often this year. It’d likely take a while for Peacock exclusives to take off but just a full simulcast deal like IndyCar would probably help the demo.

Thursday Night Football's viewership numbers on Amazon Prime are on par with what they were on NFL Network last year.

But NASCAR will die, DIE, if every race isn't available on Fox, NBC, CBS and ABC.

I'm not going to pay for a streaming service just to watch a nascar race. There are ways to watch without paying just like when MLB games are on apple tv.
Don’t feel like reading to see if anyone told you, but I know this last season all you had to do was have an Apple ID to watch Apple TV games. I didn’t have to pay for the service or anything, and it’s easy to make an Apple ID. Now if this next season will be the same idk

Still had to give them a credit card number, they are hoping that u forget to cancel it when your free trial runs out so they can charge you. I detest apple and also don't like just handing out my Credit card info for no reason. There are plenty of streams out there that don't require CC info. And as you said, there plan was to charge for it next season.

I didn’t have to give mine, all I legit had to do was sign in with my Apple ID, and i could watch. I couldn’t watch anything I needed a sub for, but the baseball games were free. Not because of any free trial, they were just free as long as you signed in, and making an Apple ID is also free.

One of the female anchors on there, Collen Wolfe I have a mad crush on. I like the NFL Network too.

NFL Network is great. One of the reasons I don’t like Amazon Prime.

NFL Network just has better content in general. Pre-game, post game, game breakdown.
