The Clash

Apparently NASCAR is dead. I keep reading that and somehow keep watching. And according to social, this race should be scrapped and replaced with a plate race.
This event has been fantastic again. I freaking love Los Angeles. I love everything about what NASCAR is doing here. Loving the whole damn weekend.

A couple of years ago, I sat on my couch and watched these guys play a video game! If I was able to sit and watch that, I'd absolutely sit and watch them actually race, regardless of what track it was at.
Same here. Cars racing on a track. Don't really care how long or short the track is.
It's the format, not the track. All tactics, no strategy. Not my cup of tea.

Hot off the press while we enjoy our musical entertainment/pre race festivities

Gwen Stefani has made music for generations and across multiple genres (alt rock, pop, hip hop, country). She’s right up there with the likes of Lady Gaga and Miley🔥.

She was a superstar of the highest order in the 90s and 2000s and even last decade for her role on The Voice.

Of course people today also think Mariah Carey is the Christmas lady and not a 5 time Grammy winner and 34 time Grammy nominated artist.

I don't listen to Pop, but I have a hard time believing she compares with Lady Gaga. The few times I have seen or heard LG was with her Super Bowl performance, and in a Star is Born and she is obviously talented in the most incredible sense. I think she has stuff stuff on youtube with Metallica too. I am planning on checking her library because she is just to great and talented to miss.

I have heard Stefani on the voice a few times and I have never been as impressed and don't want to listen to that much Pop music.

Stefani does seem to be a really sweet and fun in terms of personality. She is an extremely beautiful woman at 53 and she hasn't seemed to age in the least. She looks more like a 23 year old than a 53 y/o.

It's all good, and I was guilty myself of thinking that Lord Willian Byron's famed simulator rig (that he earned his stipes on) was actually larger than than tonight's actual track size.

Turns out I was just being ridiculous and far too cynical. He just had to drop the three large surround screens and downsize to a single Android Fold screen to maintain the realism for his practice times.

I was talking about longevity.

You don’t survive three generations of music by being a nobody who can’t sing.

Lady Gaga is the most talented vocalist of our generation and it’s not up for debate.

I can agree for most part with the cross generational part. Not sure if I can sign off with her being the absolute best of our generation yet.. She maybe but it is very subjective and there is so much of her work that I have not heard yet.......

I have only watched the first half of her movie and I am just now at the point of wanting to hear everything else she has ever done.

Bubba shoving the hamster boss out of the way was a laugh out loud moment !

My thoughts post race;

> I was entertained by much of the racing, particularly the heats. The main became a bump and spin fest…dragged on and on and on due to caution after caution ⚠️ flag. At one point it took nearly 30 minutes to complete 15 official laps.
> Agree with a previous post that this version of the clash (at LA coliseum) has reached a natural end. First was unique, this was good but exposes the challenges and limitations of such a tiny track. Also personally tired of the long halftime and show.
> Clash needs to move to a true short track that serves as a unique venue for NASCAR. Needs some banking, not dirt. I know the stands won’t be able to accommodate massive crowds, or be as “Hollywood” as desired, so it may never happen. NASCAR sees the clash as a PR event more than racing. I still think you can get all that apart from glamour glitz cities, but the toothpaste is out of the tube.
