The Announcers Thread

New PxP guy (or gal) coming to Trucks. Vince was much better as a pit reporter than as a lead announcer.

Now do Mikey next.

Truck booth needs fresh faces. I wonder if they will promote Jaime from ARCA? She's solid, but I feel as if she needs another year to really hone in on her play-by-play abilities in ARCA.

She seems like the most likely candidate but I do think she needs more work before taking that leap. She’s also a lot better as a pit reporter and it’s a big transition to make.

Maybe they can get Kurt in the Truck booth more if he’s feeling up to it.

I suspect Kurt will be in the booth for the majority of the truck races. Was it last year or the year before that he did a lot of them?

I wish we knew what the replacement plan for him is. Part of me thinks it Kurt. Before everyone gets upset of him leaving let's hear the plan

Not thrilled with the replacements for Vince Welch but I do like Amanda Busick. She's been doing NHRA for a long time and I like her in that role so hopefully she'll fit in well with NASCAR.

Heather DeBeaux was an ARCA pit reporter. Busick was in NHRA
Marching more women forward…hopefully they will be good, not just part of a strategy. Have not seen or heard these two; anyone with experience watching please give your take on their quality of work.

Jamie Little does excellent work in the pit reporting. Moving into a booth role is a whole different gig, and doesn’t always translate successfully for those that try it. Hope she has success.

WHY would the Daytona 500 NOT be broadcast in 4K? Makes no sense at this point in time, and after doing so in previous years.

Jamie Little has already announced a full year of ARCA. I listened to many broadcasts she did last year. She is as good as Vince Welch was lol.

Well, this is awkward. Harv announces his Fox gig on set with Larry Mac sitting right there....

Does anyone know if FOX plans to have Stewart in the Booth for all of their races this season? A buddy of mine informed me of this over the weekend, but I pray to God he's just messing with me...

Unlikely. I'd love it though

I imagine it will be a rotating booth similar to last season

I’d love Jimmy in there

I like that NBC has their main people calling most of the Xfinity races. It makes those races feel just as important as the Cup races.

It also doesn't provide any training of future talent

I don't know if this belongs here or I should have started a different thread.

Watching last night's coverage, I saw a couple of things I didn't like. One, the high camera in the infield just past the pit exit was making me a little lightheaded. The camera was very jerky and most of the action was going away from the camera. Two, the helmet cam they used is almost worthless. They blurred out the dash, and the hands of the drivers, to keep from showing the dash to everyone. Looked weird. And some of that blocking wound up blocking out some of the view out the windshield.
