HamBone-head of the week: Richmond

Sammy Smith team staying out on old tires at the comp caution with $100K on the line. Lap down at the stage break and was never a factor.

Same strategy as the guy that led a lot and finished 2nd....

Nemo didn't have $100,000 on the line.

That's the problem with that strategy - if someone ahead of you tries it too, he's going to get your Lucky Dog. The check went to Allgaier in 13th, a position Smith likely would have bettered by pitting with everyone else.

The Yota group in both races at Richmond made bonehead pit calls that put them behind the 8 ball and took them out of the races. They are boneheads of the weekend with Hambone taking individual honors.

Wish NASCAR still put guys on probation. Hamlin would probably be sitting out next week for driving through Yeley (assuming probation would've been issued after wrecking Ross at Phoenix).

Well listen for me then because I can hardly stand to look at him much less listen to his B.S. lol.
It's pretty obvious what happened. Hambone needed a caution to get back into the race and J.J. was handy. He was all over the other car on the outside and I said to the wife "Hamlin's going to spin this guy, just watch". He didn't spin him, but about 5 seconds later he wrecked J.J.

Wasn't Sammy Smith ahead of JHN when they made that call?

What’s with Blaney dumping the 9? Must have missed it. Guess Berry is a little too much up to speed

Christopher bell for messing up then blaming chastain

Just admit your fault wrecking byron. Blaming chastain like every one else is such a weak move

I really really like Ross and am a big fan of his.

He has somehow gotten the Jimmy Spencer curse of, no matter WTF happens on track he immediately takes the heat and it is total
Bull ****.gif

Hambone is the biggest instigator and A-hole out there and he gets a pass.

Man Hamlin is such a tool. In his podcast he claimed the JJ deal was a complete accident and almost tried to play it off that JJ breaked early, but "it's still my fault". Claims anyone that watched the video knew it clearly wasn't intentional....really? He must have a different video. Then he went on to say he would gain nothing by wrecking him for 30th....well except he didn't mention the track position he gained by bunching the field back up again.

Thanks for listening for me. Typical Hambone.

Denny is so full of it. It wasn't a mistake when he blew the last corner at Sonoma to let Tony Stewart get his last win. It wasn't a mistake when he bulldozed Chase at Martinsville in '17. And it certainly wasn't a mistake to spin Yeley at Richmond. The fact that Denny actually expects people to believe his nonsense is an insult to our intelligence.

Only because Mark Martin won the 1990 NASCAR Winston Cup Championship, otherwise Denny Hamlin would be the second best to never win a championship.
Does that take Carl out of the discussion as well because he tied?

I put that in there because in the referenced video, Denny said he absolutely hates it when people say he is the best driver to never win a cup championship and I just wanted to needle him (not that he ever reads this forum).

And...your right. Mark Martin is the best driver to never win a cup championship so Denny's not even first best. If I recall correctly, MM came within one loose lug nut of beating Tony Stewart for the cup championship in Homestead in 2015. He had been winning that race if I recall correctly and if it hadn't been for the loose lug nut in the closing laps, he almost certainly would have beaten Kurt Busch and won that race. And if he had won that race, he would have won the championship that year.

I could be wrong but that's the way I recall it.
