1986 was an incredible season for Tim Richmond. They didnt get their act together until May. It was his first season with HMS and Harry Hyde and it just took time for them to develop the chemistry, but nobody was better for the remainder of the year. The world is full of so many could and should have stories, but it would have been great to see what Richmond could have accomplished with good health and a full 1987 season.

One of my favorite Tim Richmond memories was in 1985. Tim came to GPS to run a fund raising race for the critically injured Butch Lindley who eventually passed as a result.

There was stunt driver there doing all kind of spins hook slides etc.in a modified Trans Am. He let Richmond in the car I think originally as joke, but Richmond was game and he did some great stunt work himself during that one off momemt. He was a natural in every respect.
 
Not going to lie I just assumed it was a Davey Allison scheme at first.

I like what UPS is doing with the #1 car to fuel the rift between the #1 and #11, but IMO this is a terrible attempt at a throwback

I've already see that title car, from the Rockingham stands on the day Matt clinched the title.

I never thought I'd see the phrase 'Buckshot Jones throwback scheme'.

Love the DJ / UPS tribute! I just wish they'd gone full 'Banana Fudgesicle'.
 
This is a huge reach and a poor one at that. I don’t see or understand the idea here, one is not even remotely close to the other. The throwback weekend has jumped the shark.

Now that I think of it SHR probably didn't have a lot of options for a KH throwback. I mean Ford isn't going to let you do a GM good wrench throwback and Mobil 1 isn't going to let you do a Pennzoil throwback.

I like the throwback race. I've been following NASCAR long enough to recognize most of the throwback paint jobs.
 
He posted a clip on his IG that's pretty cool, tried to link it but something is wrong with it
 
When will he finally throw back to himself? I'd love to see his Xfinity NAPA scheme, but then again with the stupid number position it probably wouldn't work.
 
I like it but the Llumar on the door looks terrible. Should've just left it blank.

My choice would be Suarez or Byron's depending on how his actually turns out.
