Cup RACE thread --- Kansas

A race car drivers ability or inability to fight shouldn't have much to do with their success.
A driver is hired to kick ass on the track and not during after the race altercations.

Note my post has nothing to do with Chastain and Greagson today, I really haven't watched enough of it to form much of an opinion. I would have to see a long history of aholery that needed adresding to care much about watching two men having a fight. So much butthurt on display isn't a good look or a sign of strength imo.

I might change my opinion about post race fights if the wimmins start catfighting each and ripping off each other's tank tops and other good stuff etc ...

Really enjoyed the race. The best of the year to date. Gragson overdid his PO meter relative to the on track tight racing. His spin had less to do with Ross and more to do with his reaction to the other car. Messed with a farm boy and got clucked.

On to Darlington and more fun.

Lots of thoughts now that I've cooled off.

Larson vs Hamlin: It's racing, but man, after watching the Celtics lose in OT with 14 seconds left, and then Larson getting dumped 15 minutes later, not fun. I'm happy that he's still technically the 1 seed, but man, Larson coulda and shoulda been sitting on 5 wins already right now. And that's not even counting the DNFs. Vegas, yellow with 3 to go. Phoenix was a choke job, today, that's 5 wins that likely were to happen with a bit of luck. And that's ignoring Autoclub, where he was the fastest car, yet running laps down. Wrecking from p2 at Atlanta with 20 to go, and wrecking at Dover.

Larson has had the fastest car all year. Cliff is a wizard. Very frustrating.

Would have liked to see at least one of my teams win.

Instead, they both lose in the final seconds. LOL

Ross vs Noah.

Anyone else a bit shocked at how quick Ross was to punch? We know he's been full of ****. But he drives like an a**hole, gets out, gets doe eyed and docile.

Noah puts his hands on him, Ross has that blank stare again, and Ross clocks him.

Ross is a psychopath. Does not give a ****.

Nothing wrong with never being in a fight tbh.
No, and 90% of the time they aren't necessary to establish a boundary.

But sometimes, lines get crossed.

Oh for sure, if it comes down to it and it’s needed, 100%. But it’s definitely not an insult to never be in one

Another angle. The Imitator got a good shot in, before the bodyguards broke it up. I don’t think Noah would have won the fight though, Ross looks like he knew how to handle himself in a situation like that. Noah had it coming, can’t put your hands on another fella like that and not expect some fisticuffs
The whole deal is that "someone gonna have to pop Ross to get him to stop driving like an idiot"

Noah decided to be that guy....and Ross throws a punch first LOL

I’m mad about that. First time someone actually had the balls to confront him, and he ***** it up and doesn’t throw the first punch.

Agreed. I think being able to verbally deescalate someone who is agressing towards you takes just as much strength as winning a fight.

Not belittling anyone who's fought though. I have/would during a high school sporting event, if it didn't get broken up

Ross is something else.

When it comes to fights you'll see a lot of guys that just want to act like they want to fight (Noah) and guys that have no problem bringing the heat (Ross)

To be fair, Ross had some heavy protection after throwing the punch. I think Noah would’ve threw down with him if those bodyguards weren’t there

Yeah, he's lucky I think he was about to get knocked out. I don't get why he's coming in pushing instead of throwing punches. Just gives me vibes of the old hold me back guy.

I don’t know man, Noah took that shot like a champ, it rocked him a little bit but he ain’t go down. I think it could’ve been a good one if they let them go at it. All it takes is one good punch.

Oh, I definitely wish they would have let it go. Seeing Noah get hit a few more times would be heaven on earth

I think he pisses the wrong person off this season and gets him one. Not sure who, but it will happen.
Nah. At this point I don't think Ross gives a ****.

I mean, he races like an ass. Comes out stone faced puppy dog eyes saying how sorry he is.

And the second someone puts a hand on him, he cracks em?

I think Ross has some screws loose or something. You see Denny's reaction when Bob showed him the video?

Sadly, this is going to continue. Ross is gonna bully people on the track, and leave him alone because they don't want to get cracked, imo.

Noah has thrown punches before. I just think he expected Ross to be intimidated.

And for me seeing Ross getting rocked would’ve been nice. Rather you think what happened with Noah on track was Ross or not, Ross has drove like a dick a few times now, sometimes he gets blamed for **** he ain’t do, but plenty of times he’s drove like a dick, so he deserves a few pops to the face

Well, he didn't play that hand right. Generally when you start shoving a guy and that guy tells you to stop MULTIPLE TIMES, you might want to stop or prepare to defend yourself. That's pretty basic. Noah did neither of those things.

Maybe one day you'll get your wish. I'm thoroughly happy I got mine today.

I did see it yeah. Denny probably was thinking he wish he had the balls to step to Ross at least. So even if Noah got hit, he did more than Dennis ever did.

I’m not even sure Ross could **** up so bad he someone how ends up in the booth and wrecks Carl, but damn that would be crazy
“And the 1 of Ross Chastain has just tugged Carl Edwards’s desk chair and around he goes. This could get interesting.”

Tbh something like that would make for a great segment for something like Raceday.

No idea if I missed this in his interview but Denny even said if the roles were reversed he be pissed, so see I was correct. Denny is fine doing what he did, but he wouldn’t like it done to him. He a bitch,

This year feels a lot like 2021 without the good luck

Didn't get to watch most of stage three because I had to go meet my mother for her birthday dinner at a crowded restaurant. Waited a good while for table and the bar had NBA and soccer on. WTF... Anyways, was able to listen to Sirius extra channel that had the race plus 9 radio on it. Heard Chase get lead and seemed like he was about to yard them but caution. Got buried around 8th and I couldn't see it, but they were mad as hell at the 3. Once he got stuck behind the 3 he said the car went way too tight (with a few F bombs) and I knew it was over. It was then we arrived to restaurant and I knew nothing of what would transpire, only to get to catch up this morning. Holy crap, what a race. Wish I could have watched!

Best race of the year hands down. Amazing battle third stage. No other 1.5 track races like that. Whatever has changed at Kansas I love it.

Kyle’s bemused smile at Gregson/Chastain flailing around during his interview was amazing.

Let’s hope the coming races are as dialed in.

Only serious detraction was FOX coverage or lack of it at the end-(except for Kurt, love Kurt in the booth)
