Hendrick Motorsport News

that was a real championship drive. They werent the best all day, cool to see Cliff and the 5 bunch get the car a bit better each stop. From going to thinking it was going to be a long day to a top 5 finish, take that and move on.

Quite a show when Larson was up front racing on two tires and everybody else around him has 4. I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Dude is unbelievable. Bullies Marks, then turns around and passively supports Little Chasey's hook of Hamlin. Does he even have a clue that not everybody in the world hangs on his every word? Just shut the hell up.
If, say, Chase kept taking out JGR cars weekly and this had gone on for almost a year, would you expect Coach to sit back and take it on the chin? To do as he preaches and turn the other cheek? Now add in the layer that Chase is suddenly in a TRD car and Coach is providing him engineering data and engines. Would Coach just let it go? Or would he extract a pound of flesh somehow? Hmmm... seems like there's precedent here. Ask Furniture Row... (and that was just getting taken out ONCE)

One hell of a stretch, but I will give you credit for the effort.

I would die inside but part of me hopes Chase Elliott someday ends up in a JGR Toyota just for the sheer entertainment that will be @Revman posts. Or what if JGR and HMS swapped manufacturers. Oh the possibilities!

Happy off week y'all

That's pretty clear how that would end. I would flip. I have been very open about this. I am manufacturer loyal. All sins forgiven once you step into one of MY TRD powered Toyota Camry TRDs.

All 4 in the top 15 for Hendrick. That is more that can be said about the preacher's bunch. Oh yeah, you remember a driver don't ya Rev that used to race for the preacher.
He's one of the many they couldn't afford. They seem to always have finding a sponsor problems for some reason. This one is called Kyle Busch and he finished second. Boy that would have made the rice pop if he was still racing for the preacher, it would have been a one and two finish. That would be something to brag about, but -sigh- it's not to be, the ol Gibber will have to make do with one who doesn't know which direction they are racing and another that runs blindly into the wall..but he has his own podcast though FWIW.

And one who apparently does even know himself from Jesus

Wow all in the Top 15! Super awesome. Didn't notice. I was watching the guy in front who nobody--even your new boy--could touch. I'll send ya some of my chicken dinner when I am done nibbling on it. Points leader. Time for The Chain Gang to get "creative" again I suppose.

It's much better than last year when none of the rice burners could CRACK the top 15 lol.

. You saw OUR speed in qualifying. Racing **** happens. Fact of the matter is that if you stuff five Toyotas in the Top 10, you have a good shot at taking home the trophy. You think The Felon would trade his Top 15s for the trophy....or cheat for it? Yep and yep. You are reaching.

As long as you don't look at the total manufacturer wins this year you will be OK.

Before or after the louvers?
Or the total of Kyle Busch vs any TRD in wins.
3 v. 2? Oh you got me alright.....and KB was dominant in Dega huh? Who is your point leader again? SMDH

Why are you talking about last year....Oh I know because you have nothing this year. Got it.

The standings that matter. I see 3 Chevys.

The Felon never disappoints. Screw 7 time, and then kick him again just because. A Honda in IndyCar was okay. Class act? Statesman? Laughable. What an ass. Shots fired.

Most likely the decision had NOTHING to do with Rick Hendrick. GM/Cadillac controls who gets those cars and who drives them. (Factory drivers). I am not aware that GM has offered another chassis to be available to AXR/HMS to run another car, even if they wanted to, and with car counts being decent in the prototype class, Jim France may feel he doesn't need to spend any more of HIS money to run a second team car. Besides, has Jimmie said ANYWHERE that he even WANTS to continue driving the Caddy? Jimmie got his free pass to drive the Honda Indycar. Why should GM continue to do favors for him when he's left the fold? Hell, I would have pulled him out of the garage 56 program as soon as Legacy announced their deal. If he wants to drive a Prototype, let him drive a Toyota.....

Everything having to do with GM has to do with The Felon. Come on man. First, GM should have treated him better with Legacy. Given that they are too busy kissing The Felon's ass, they should have at least allowed him to continue with other operations outside of NASCAR as they had been doing. The audacity of giving the finger to the guy who gave you SEVEN championships on the ownership side, and then cutting all ties is savage. Make no mistake...The Felon plays for keeps. Hell, he even went out of his way to attempt to screw Honda dealers--no doubt not as rich as himself--in an attempt to gain sales.

I appreciate your posts on the matter. You seem as manufacturer loyal as I am...but I doubt that you will admit that. What Chevy did to Jimmie on the ownership side is shocking really. FWIW...he called US. Glad to have him in our...."fold".

I AM manufacturer loyal, and I've never hidden that fact. No, not EVERYTHING GM does with racing runs through Rick Hendrick. Technically he only competes in ONE class of one racing series on a regular basis, and unless you are privy to some facts I am not, you have NO IDEA what GM was or wasn't prepared to do for Legacy. We don't even REALLY know how much Jimmie was actually involved in this whole Toyota deal. I have been led to believe Maury Gallagher was the one they talked to, and the one who made the deal. Also, remember that loyalty works BOTH ways. Where is Jimmie's loyalty? Without Herb Fishel and GM, it 's quite unlikely anybody would have ever HEARD of Jimmie Johnson. If Rick was as awful as you seem to think he is, he would have done what I would have done, and kicked his butt out of Garage 56.

David Wilson said in the Legacy presser that "...when Jimmie Johnson calls, you take that call."

Jimmie indicated in the presser that he would not be getting what he needed with the current arrangement with Chevy to grow his company.

How loyal would you like the SEVEN time champion be? He has a business to run now, and he was marginalized--just like Justin Marks. How he has been treated by Chevy....errrr The Felon.... is shocking really.

....But wait, Garage 56 was a NASCAR endeavor, right? How could The Felon toss Jimmie out when this, in theory, was never a manufacturer specific endeavor? Don't bother...we both know how this went.

Again, much respect for your manufacturer loyalty. I hope that there is more of it some day.

If the move comes out any better than Leavine family racing or Furniture Row I will be surprised.

A championship is a lofty goal, but I like your optimism.

Jimmie KNEW what he was getting when he bought into the team, the fourth Chevy team in the pecking order, with a crappy ownership history, no particular loyalty to ANY manufacturer
and next to no track record of success. What was Chevy supposed to do, just open up the bank vault? And that whole Jimmie making a phone call thing is a LOT DIFFERENT TUNE then what they were all saying a few months ago. Maybe Jimmie DID make a phone call at some point, but the original story I got was that Toyota called Maury, probably after they had called about 4-5 other teams first.

I think that my boy @StandOnIt asks for receipts....but I won't bother. You imply that WE were begging. WE don't need to.

Jimmie should expect more because he is Jimmie ****** Johnson who has won 7 more titles that his former owner. Yeah, open up the vault. Toyota did for Denny, and watch them do it for Jimmie as well. They screwed him, and it is surprising.
