Is the racing better in the Xfinity series?

I know the guys on DBC have been saying it for a long time but I actually think the Xfinity cars put on a better show than the cup cars. At this point it seems that Nascar themselves know this as well and are trying to down play it. The finish at Texas was crazy and it seemed like it didn't get a whole lot of play on social media platforms. This past weekend the broadcast wouldn't even post speeds on the ticker because it seemed like they were embarrassed.

I haven't seen a Xfinity race all year. Their races are usually on at odd times and it's hard to know if it's an early afternoon race or a late afternoon/evening race. Fox does little to promote them.

That's why I try to watch all three series. You never know when a good race is going to appear. Texas was pretty rare in which all three races were great.

You might try checking here. Races are posted days before they run them. But ya know as the Revman says, narrative lol.

I just think if you filled the field with cup guys in Xfinity cars it was be one heck of a show

Personally, I like to watch for example a new driver who jumped over the Trucks from ARCA, who didn't know squat about pit stops or how to keep up with the track win a race over Cup drivers with Cup teams shutting everybody else out in the series. We have already been down that road. That Cup driver deal in Xfinity probably makes more sense to casual fans who don't watch that many races so they can sound cool at tee off Sunday.

Xfinity is aided by the much shorter race length. Cup is a better product, but we’ve got to remember that these are essentially endurance races in the racing world.

Take COTA for instance, F1 runs 56 laps there while turning 1:35 lap times in. NASCAR runs 68 laps at around 2:10 a lap.

A perfectly practical solution.

I’m sure an announcement is forthcoming … as soon as a few minor details are worked out.

Even the reason for the thread shows that the changes made to the series have accomplished what they were trying to do. That was to make the Xfinity series a stand alone series, not Cup on Saturdays.

^I doubt they wanted to make Cup racing worse than the secondary series.

What series anyone thinks is better is all a matter of opinion tbh. If someone thinks the Cup is the best, that's their truth, same for Xfinity, or Trucks.

More Popular does not = better, it just means it's the one people watch the most. A lot of things that I don't like are pretty popular, so to me something else would be better than that.

More popular = mo money. The rest is nothing more than personal opinions. I try to watch all three series why? because a great race can break out in any of them at any time on any track.
At the other end of the spectrum there are fans that only watch one driver and if he isn't in the race they don't watch at all.

Yeah that second half after more money is exactly what I said man so we don't even disagree lol. I watch all 3 as well, and most of the time when all 3 have a race on, normally the Xfinity imo has the best race. Trucks use to be, but now it seems to be a lot of young guys who drive way over their heads most weeks. I miss the days of the Trucks having the Vets at the tail end of their career. But I also agree that you could get a great race out of all of them, you never really know. I for one was shocked Texas was a great weekend, cause that track hadn't been great lately. I enjoyed the Cup race at Atlanta despite a lot of folks hating it.

SOI will tell you that your wrong even if you are agreeing with him. He is the utmost authority on NASCAR and your opinion doesn't matter.

Xfinity guys have more off throttle time, more tire fall off, get to really show case their talents with the cars yawed out and wheeling it. Cup series is 400/500 miles of qualifying laps every single lap because mistakes are more forgiving.

I feel over the past 2 seasons the Xfinity series has had a lot more good finishes as well.

At minimum, the race is over earlier, so there's less chances at people getting frustrated with watching 4 hours of an event only to then see the last 3 laps take 45 minutes.

Personally, my opinion about XFinity is "It's cheaper than Cup to see 9 times out of 10".
