NASCAR Pick 'Em 2024 - Chicago

I considered changing my pick to Austin Hill but didn't. It would've not made much of a difference.

Congratulations to @Biggreen695, @Spotter22, @REBS31, and @ol'whatshisname, the recipients of the "Highest Finishing Pick" award following the fifth place finish of their pick, Michael McDowell, in the rain shortened Grant Park 165.

The "Most Upward Movement" award was taken by @Magicmiler as he gained an incredible ten spots in the standings with his pick of 11th place finisher Daniel Suarez, although the movement was due in large part to the $hit Luck of over half the players of the game.

The "Slipping & Sliding" award was taken by @2 Sweet when his pick, race favorite Shane van Gisbergen, was taken out of the race causing him to drop four spots in the standings.

The "Top Five" club saw @JJ_14 shown the door after just one week of membership and the return of @Spotter22, who climbed to third place in the standings thanks to the strong finish by McDowell.

The top of the leader board remained in the hands of @ol'whatshisname, who almost doubled his lead over the second spot, now held by @Biggreen695.

The three race streak by @hmmm298 of picking a driver with a Top Ten finishing pick came to a screeching halt and there is now no player that has an active streak of even two consecutive races.

Finally, due to a shortage of actual "Wiping Up the Rear" awards, in lieu of receiving the award for their pick of last finisher Shane van Gisbergen, the 21 players that picked the hard luck New Zealander formed a line that wrapped around the block and were instead given a "Certificate of Rare Rear Achievement."

I struggled with my pick between McDriver and SVG. I thought SVG would be the popular so I went with McDriver and at first I thought I screwed up when he pitted for wets and he stayed in the rear the first half and then the racing gods struck down the mighty SVG and saved all of us that picked the 34! I'm coming for you Olwhatshisname and BigGreen! Bring on the Tricky Triangle!

25 of 33 players failed to make a pick that finished inside the top 20. I thought last week wouldn't be replicated in a long time in terms of bad picks. It happened... the very next race!
