Until about two weeks ago you wouldn't have noticed we're hosting this tournament. Euphoria comparable to 2006 is nowhere to be found.
I haven't been following our national team much recently, don't really have a clue about their chances.

Funfact, the Autobahn from Chemnitz to Leipzig was supposed to be completed in time for the 2006 World Cup. Leipzig is once again hosting 4 games this year and they still haven't finished construction.

I only very casually follow club soccer but international soccer is a different deal entirely. Looking forward to a full month of this and Copa America running parallel.

As usual I’m good as long as England don’t win.

For me it's pretty much the other way round. I didn't even know Ilkay Gündogan was the captain of the German national team.

Kickoff for Germany v Scotland in 5 minutes.

Banger tournament so far. Wish I had gotten to sit down and watch more than just Scotland/Switzerland live as of yet.

Portugal was effectively locked in as the top finisher in Group F anyways, but pretty remarkable nonetheless that Georgia upset them today to advance to the knockouts themselves. Surpassed Slovakia/Belgium from last week as the biggest Euros upset ever.

Top half of the bracket is stacked with big names now.

Looks biblical. Wow.
Just got going again, just a quick shower.
Tbh I think the main concern was hail and lightning being right above the stadium (we don't have that 8 mile law that always delays NASCAR races).
The heaviest rain I have ever seen in person was in Florida (Daytona actually), it never rains that hard here but we also have much worse drainage systems.

Crazy run of form from Italy recently. Failed to qualify for World Cup 2018, won Euro 2020, failed to qualify for WC 2022, ugly R16 elimination in Euro 2024.

Georgia go up early on Spain off an own goal. It feels like there’s been an extraordinary amount of those in this tournament so far.

A clear result for once, Holland was simply a class better than the Romanians.
Excited for Turkey-Austria. Two underdog teams that both have a solid chance to go places in this tournament.

What a freaking header! Fantastic, fantastic match.

Still baffled by how Germany weren’t awarded a penalty in extra time for that supposed non-handball.

I'd love to see Switzerland or Turkey win it all. They're arguably the last underdogs still in the tournament.
Most of the talk here was about whoever wins Spain v. Germany will win it all, let's see if that remains true. I agree that Spain are the favorites as of right now.

Spain are gonna win the whole thing. Don’t think it matters who wins tomorrow.

Lamine Yamal…a few days shy of his 17th birthday. Damn.

They are certainly the favorites to win this. They have played better football in this final against England in this first half but it is still 0-0.

What a phenomenal second half that was.

The team of destiny and the team of dominance met today, and dominance prevailed.

I think the Copa final in Miami should be a banger as well. Gonna be insane energy down there tonight.
