MLB Playoffs 2024

The Royals did great to get out of the fifth inning jam and squeak a run out with some small ball in the sixth. Hopefully this great pitching they have had holds up.

I see the incessant whining and conspiracy mongering has to carry over to baseball too.

Gritty win for the Royals. They really stole that one. The Orioles had more meaningful scoring chances and just didn't get it done when they did. The Royals had exactly one and capitalized. The problem going forward is that their hitting is so terrible that the pitching has to be perfect. Opening games matter a lot, but the O's have a better chance than most teams in this situation to take it to a third game.

The Royals' defense have saved a couple runs already, clinging to another 1-0 lead after four.

The wheels are falling off for the Royals in the fifth. A solo HR and now bases loaded with no outs for the Orioles. Yikes.

From bases loaded with no outs to no additional runs and a 1-1 tie. Great escape by the Royals, but all knotted up now.

Pitching and defense gets it done for the Royals. Next up the Yankees. This brings back a lot of memories that I can barely remember from the '80s in which the Royals were tasked with being Yankee slayers. Would be magical if they can get it done again.

George Brett days

As someone who very, very casually follows baseball these days it was a pleasant surprise to tune in today and see Salvy Perez is still a Royal and playing well.

Saw some chatter down the stretch that the wild card race would look different if the Central teams didn’t get to win pad so much against Chicago. Seems it should’ve been considered that everyone in that division but the White Sox were taking wins off of each other instead (the usual AL East rallying cry).

Dude, if they get swept again, I am going to yeet my TV through a window.

I rarely come down here to post anymore but had to do it. Lmao Lastros getting their asses swept.

Garbage banging dumbasses. lol

Goodbye. See you in 20 years when my Red Sox become relevant again. :)

I hope the Royals beat the Yankees, as much as I hate that franchise. But I think this is the year they get no. 28.
Yes, it would be a catastrophic failure for the franchise if the Yankees don’t at least make the World Series this year with the draw they have now. But you’ve said this so many times this year I’m almost positive we’ll end up with Tigers/Padres. Postseason baseball is chaotic like that.

A back and forth duel ongoing in the Bronx as the Royals are hanging tough against the Yankees thus far. There have been five lead changes and it's currently 5-4 Royals in the sixth.

At the risk of sounding like Andy, the Yankees were gifted a bogus stolen base that should have been overturned upon challenge, but was not. That becomes the go ahead run at present, Yankees lead 6-5.

The Yankees take Game 1 6-5. Stinging loss for the Royals given the bungled call and uncharacteristically poor pitching in some big moments.

Massive walk off for the Phillies to tie the series

I care way more more about the Royals outcome tonight than the Chiefs, but it's weird to have them playing big games at the same time. Let's get one tonight.

Yankees are gonna end up going out on a whimper as usual. I wouldn’t be surprised if this series doesn’t even make it back to New York. Rinse and repeat with Cashman and Boone. And Judge has a postseason problem.

Lindor grand slam is a back breaker for the Phillies, I just didn't have a great feeling coming into the post season.

I STILL think the Yankees will win the World Series. It's their year. Even when they underperform, things fall right into place for them.

The Royals down 3-1 in the 7th and come within a foot or two of hitting a 2-run homer to tie it. Instead it's caught right at the wall. The increasing wind blowing in would typically help them more than the slugger Yankees, but it just killed their best chance there. Deflating.
