Lets see if we can get another classic finish!

Pretty clean but fun opening hour. I don’t expect as much discretion later on.

Not very surprising to see Ross Gunn in the 23 pushing the most in GTD Pro thus far. Gotta go for it and hope Rexy finishes midpack or so.

Phenomenal action in GTP right now.

Not sure how the 77 is going to be able to overcome major gearbox issues, brutal misfortune to have now of all times.

77 is gonna lose a number of laps here trying to get the fix done on pit lane. Bad day gets worse.

If they end up finishing 12th in class as they are, the 23 just needs to get on the podium to take the title.

Lots of green flag running in this one. It’ll be interesting to see if there are yellows in the closing hours to allow some teams to get their laps back and re-rack things.

CGR have done a great job getting the 01 back into contention after the early sensor issue.

That piece of bad luck is about what you have to expert from a Taylor car at this event. Every year they go there and it blows up in their face in the last hour. All that's left now is to see of the 01 can catch the 963s.

There’s an interesting contrast between how the Daytona 24 and Petit Le Mans typically seem to go for them.

Laurin Heinrich by four whole points over Ross Gunn in his first season in the series, and AO’s first in GTD Pro. What a season for these guys and gals.

That was really cool.

Pink Cadillac wins in Ganassi’s send-off.
Iron Lynx Lambo maiden GTD Pro win.
Conquest Racing maiden GTD win (after winning in a one-off entry in GTD Pro at Road America)
Penske cap off an excellent championship season in GTP.

Tons of drama as usual. This race always delivers. God, I wish this series had a couple more races.

Nah.

Working these events have opened my eyes, we need don't anymore.😂😂

Finally some decent luck for the 01.

Anyone notice Bourdais was not in on the celebration? He simply vanished.

He was there. I do think he’s moving to WEC next year. If that’s the case, I’m glad he leaves CGR and IMSA on a high note.

Gorgeous car and a gorgeous pass to win it.

Rumors are that Van Der Zande could be on the move to Honda.

Also, will it mean that Deletraz and Albuquerque will remain with WTR or will they stay in place to move to Honda? Then Derani I think is not returning to IMSA and is moving to WEC. I think Derani will be that experienced driver Aston Martin wants to help develop the prototype.

That pairing actually makes the most sense. Maybe Bourdais goes with him.

I know he was there somewhere, but he skipped the interview, and he never showed up on TV. Just seemed a little odd.

He did all the podium celebrations, so I’m not sure about that. Maybe just hanging back celebrating with the rest of the team.

I think Van Der Zande and Dane Cameron will move to MSR and link up in one entry, the other will be Blomqvist and Colin Braun again. Then WTR just bring their whole squad over to Cadillac. But it’s almost all up in the air right now.

Derani to Aston is an interesting idea, I could dig it. I think it’d be great to have a guy with a few years of experience with these prototype regulations already, since a lot of the rest of the squad will probably be guys called up from Aston’s factory GT roster.

Also, Michael Shank had been around all weekend. So, MSR reps were in town to pickup the Acuras today. These were the 2023 haulers, so they had been sitting for a year. This is how chassis exchanges are done from team to team when switching OEMs.
