Has JGR Lost a Step?

14 years ago in the fall Hamlin had his last win at Martinsville. His best track? I would hate to see his worst.
Dude. Zip it. Laps lead. Raw speed. You hate lotto racing, right? He has been victim of that, and anybody who watches this sport even a little understands that.

A Denny Hamlin championship would be a feel-good story. Even people that dislike him can't deny that.
I am excited for today. He has an opportunity to do the unthinkable, and potentially change a worn out narrative.

I’d say his best is probably Richmond or maybe even Pocono.
When I think of a Denny Hamlin track, I think of Pocono. He was incredible there early in his career.

He is pretty good at Martinsville; I expect him to continue that trend today.

He's been a victim of not winning for 14 years? Do you have an excuse for every year handy? :lurk:

The conditions aren't right for Hamlin at Martinsville today.

He is a master at long runs, but they are racing on rocks today; tire wear, unfortunately, will be minimized.

It will be a 15-plus caution shiet-show, and Hamlin is more prone to pit road speeding penalties. The track position effects will be much more critical in today's race.

They say they have a softer tire today. Should we believe them? How many times have we been told that?

Many of the fastest laps during practice seem to be deep into the run

Don’t they have option tires too today?
Nope, it was called an option tire, their softest they say. Doesn't look too soft looking at practice time when their best lap was well into the run.
