Phoenix Raceway Championship Pre-Race Thread

Here's the perfect ending to this season with all the bs etc. A bump/dump for the win, and the champ celebrates by getting his ass whooped after the race. That would be the exclamation point on this season.

Penske is lights out....but those conditions will not be anything iike race conditions. WE are struggling a bit for sure. So interesting to see The Preacher's Bunch already start the process of screwing an affiliate....just like Furniture Row days. Every damn JGR crew chief in the 45's garage talking to Billy....and Billy said in his post practice presser that JGR has been in his shop all week assisting. Great stuff. As Chocolate Myers says....Don't take the hats to Victory Lane before the checkered. I have hope even when 50 laps down at the white. Gotta pull something out of OUR asses for qualifying today. Can't wait.

Looking at the schedule for the 3 days and just shake my head. Looks like the trucks get no practice today and just qualify. Cup and Xfinity get practice today and qualify tomorrow. Why don't the trucks get any practice, especially for a race this big? Makes no sense.

Not as big a deal, but why can't Xfinity and Cup practice and qualify on the same day? Seems Nascar is never happy if they aren't constantly changing things.
Trucks practiced Thursday night.

Logano said on the scanner that Chevys were blocking runs in practice. What is up with The Felon these days?

Solid qualifying. WE got better. In the game. LFG. No sleep last night. Don't need any. Love this.

Christmas morning. Can't believe I am here. So freaking jacked up. How about MTJ in Victory Lane with the 45 second? Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IDK - This weekend just feels lackluster to me. Other than maybe Blaney I just can't see the season any of these guys had being worthy of a title. I know Byron's numbers are similar but dude has not done much since early April. Even Blaney though, while he had a good year may be overhyped at this point because of getting hot at the right time. His season is starting to look a lot like Chase's 2020 to me. On that note, Chase started in the rear at Phoenix that day and I think was in the top-ten by like lap 50. With Blaney starting 17th I think he will be in the top-ten by around lap 10 because the field just pulls over for these guys and it makes for a very anti-climactic finale. I think for me having no one to root against is making it less interesting because I really don't care if any of them win or lose. I know this though - If Blaney became a 2-time Champ everyone will freak out and make a huge deal of it and that's what bothers me about this format. You can have a so-so year (not really that hard to make the round of 8 honestly) and then win the last 2 races and you're a champ? I say no - even as a fan of a driver who did exactly that. NASCAR needs to see their finale is not what it needs to be and make changes that put more weight on having a solid and consistent season and less weight on winning races. I still think winning should carry something extra obviously but not what it does now.

I’m with ya. I just can’t find the motivation to watch, last week broke me. Very weird feeling, nascar racing is a huge part of my life but I think I’m going to skip out on todays festivities maybe do some work tasks or clean my office or play with my sons. I hope those that watch enjoy the hell out of today, Rev looks like he is at the race that’s awesome

Perfect ending is for all 4 to wreck out on lap 1 and the announcers not knowing what to talk about the rest of the race. Have 3 red flags, 17 cautions, and a start-and-parker winning by being the only driver remaining. I want this playoff format to burn

It’s championship day!!! It’s been roughly 17 years since I last got to celebrate a championship as a fan, and that was with the Detroit Red Wings. This year could be the Detroit Lions turn, but today is all about William Byron. The drama of last weekend is done. Go get that title!!!

Good start so far with Chase wrecking the pace car.

Nope....Was at The Toyota Racing Experience listening to Bubba and Martin.
I thought maybe the stamp was just on the other end instead of your head and we couldn't see it.

Hope it was fun for real. :p

Too much hair, or yeah, it would have been a viable option. Result wasn't what I wanted, but as I have always said, we are in it for the competition which is three days of the anticipation of success. Failure doesn't take that away. As always, a great weekend.
