Fred Lorenzen was one of my favorite drivers. I followed his career from the beginning - he was a one year older than I am - until he retired.
Fred never disappointed race fans. He came into the sport and walked away from it at just the right time. So sad he spent his final days dealing with dementia. At least now he is at peace.
