F1 2025 News/Misc.

Sebastian Montoya will be in F2 next year, but Seb's time in Europe has not been that great, tbh:

17th in F3 last year with a single podium, hopefully he's able to get up to speed quickly. Gabrielle Mini is no joke on the second car.

Rwanda has officially launched its bid to hold an F1 race in the country and even intend to build a permanent track NOT designed by Tilke. I'd actually like to see that. It's been 31 years since F1 raced in Africa. It's time.

It could probably happen in 2027 at the earliest, when Zandvoort's and Barcelona's slots on the schedule will become available.
With Spain hosting two races in 2026, 2025 will probably be the last race at Imola.

Checo had a solid four years at Red Bull, but costing them the constructors this year was the final straw.

Man won 5 times and had 29 podiums, solid job all-round for Red Bull. Hope Checo continues to race or maybe he takes it easy.

They hate Asians.

To be fair, either driver is not a bad option. Lawson has won in practically everything he's been in and honestly, I think he has the stones to be really good. However, I think he is being rushed for this role.

I'm not sure this is a better choice than Yuki.

Not that I have anything against Lawson - he’s certainly an intriguing prospect - but imo, Yuki earned that seat with his performance the past couple of years. And there’s still quite a bit of risk in elevating a guy with not even a dozen Grand Prix starts to the main team.

Let Red Bull do the same thing because Horner echoed similar statements about Gasly in 2019.

We all know how that went. Then Albon and before that Kyvat.

If they were seeing something from Yuki with all the time in simulators and on track that they can see, Yuki would I'm sure be in the seat. That this was even a discussion told you that they didn't see Yuki the way a lot of fans do.

Don't get me wrong, Liam and Yuki both have a bright future in the sport but Yuki did all he could have done to get that ride.

They brought Ricciardo in to put pressure on Perez but Yuki was ahead of Danny most of the time. After Danny was swapped out Yuki beat Liam in quali 6 times in 6 weekends.
What else was he supposed to do?

I hope they have patience with Liam, allow him to develop and don't swap him out in the middle of the season.
With the switch to Ford in 2025 I'm sure Yuki will be looking elsewhere. I could see him going to Cadillac if they want an experienced driver alongside (hopefully) Colton in 2026 or maybe Aston if Stroll Sr. can finally convince Lance to switch to WEC.

Btw. I think if would've been a better look for Perez if he'd announced his retirement on his own terms before Abu Dhabi. It was clear Red Bull would not retain him.
The last year and a half overshadow how great his career was as a whole. His tire saving skills were the best in the field back when that mattered. Whenever there was a podium up for grabs in the Force India he made it.
Even though he was no match for Max he can be proud of the wins he scored with Red Bull.

The German media ain't giving up. Gotta write Mick back into F1 no matter what.
He will not drive for Cadillac. No way.
My money would be on Herta in one car and Sainz, Colapinto or Yuki in the second one.
