College Football 2024

I don't understand Ohio State being favorites over Oregon and I really don't get Penn State being 11 point favorites. I feel like I'm about to win some money, but usually that feeling is wrong.

Without looking at favorites, who do you see winning all the games in the next round?

Oregon
Texas
Notre Dame (toss up, but I lean ND with their D and Beck being out.)
Boise State(I just don't trust Franklin and Allar and Jeanty is the best player on the field.
I agree with this other than ND, but I do agree that one is a toss up. I just look at the fact that I think Beck was holding them back a little. Cause they won a few games this year that I can honestly say Beck ain’t why they won. But that ND defense is great, so I could also see them winning. Which if so I hope they win it all as that’s my girlfriend’s favorite team and I’ll be happy for her.

Or only give bye to the best four teams.
Top five conference champions should be guaranteed a spot and nothing more. Seed the bracket from 1-12 regardless of at-large or auto bid. The byes screw up the whole bracket.

Would probably lead to more interesting first round games too.

I bet none of the sports media folks who talked about how bad SMU and Indiana played showing “they didn’t belong.” will say anything about Tennessee playing badly. They got beat worse than Indiana even. Same amount of points, 17, but Ohio State scored more than ND did. Just will show the bias they got to the sec, and I say they as a fan of a team in the conference.
Mostly ESPN personalities too. I haven’t seen anything from them and I doubt we will.

Meanwhile, most SEC fans find it objectively hilarious that it was Tennessee who went and laid an absolute egg out there.

btw Miami had the most explosive offense in college football this year in yards per/gm points per/gm, with 2 losses if anyone has a gripe to being left out of this year's playoff it's not 3 loss Bama it's Miami. 3 loss Clemson freerolled them on scheduling SEC to get into what should have been treated as a de-facto playoff game with SMU if they lost twice, personally I would have opted for Miami for the playoff a much more dangerous team to play against than both SMU and Clemson.

This was likely to be the most chalky part of the playoffs with the home field advantage in college football along with the talent disparity is hard to overcome, neutral site next round should be much more up in the air.

Arizona State could catch Texas by surprise here with the extra prep time, might not matter as the talent level on Texas is top 4 in the country, but Texas has had some weird moments this season and ASU is a fun fast type of team with Dillingham, they'll need to get off to a fast start to catch Texas off guard. This could be the surprise game, but I think Texas has too much for them and Sark will have them ready.

Ohio State - Oregon a brutal draw for Oregon to have to rematch with tOSU but they get the extra time and Rose Bowl backyard conditions, flip a coin 2 of the best teams in the country. Slight lean to a rusty start for Oregon with the time off while Ohio State seems to be out for blood to put the country on notice that they're the team to beat.

Penn State - Boise St.... Boise St. has not faced a defense remotely close to as good as Penn State's and Big West teams were able to sell out on stopping Jeanty this year at times he can be shutdown spotlighted, they'll have to show they can do something thru the air & other avenues to have a chance. If Penn State's offense gets it going like they did against Oregon on neutral site in non-frozen tundra conditions, Boise St. will get overpowered if that happens.

Notre Dame - Georgia, if Notre Dame is going to get past the Dawgs this would be the time for it as Georgia has looked vulnerable at times this season but then looks like the Dawgs of ol' at other times like Texas. Fade them at your own peril, with Kirby Smart and the extended break to rest reset it's hard to go against their pedigree, the biggest question being at quarterback for Georgia for a full game. Notre Dame looked dominant against a good offensive Indiana team was a 27-3 vibe for most of the game (14 garbage time points to close it up on the box score), this will be a battle of 2 really physical football teams attempting to out physical each other. The way Georgia shows up for these big time games, it's tough to go against.

I've got:
Texas
Ohio State
Penn State
Georgia

In case anyone needed another reason to hate Ohio State and their fans:

I'm all for good trash talk but Dolly Parton slander will not be tolerated.

College OT is atrocious and Pat Narduzzi is a puss. A chance to go for the win on 4th down from the 1 in 2OT and you kick for the tie? You deserve to lose in 6OT just for that.

Bowl games outside of the CFP - still fun! Navy and Army will both finish with 10+ wins for the first time ever.

perhaps Colorado should have picked up an extra insurance policy for the ass kicking they're receiving tonight lol. But nah it's been a good season for them, Travis Hunter just rac'd a 43 yard td, still time to get back in this one, then it's off to the nfl.

I don’t like Cam Ward grabbing an individual record and then bailing on his team at half. Either opt out of the entire game or play the entire game. Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things, but that’s a disservice to your teammates.

Absolutely cracking game though. Also, this has objectively been a horrendous postseason for the ACC.

The BYU blowout in the Alamo was pretty surprising to me.

It certainly appears to be a different game now that the weather has dried up and Alabama can put their athleticism to use. A sloppy wet game favored Michigan’s style. Second half should be interesting.

He probably won’t, but Milroe needs to stay in school if he wants to be successful in the NFL

The broadcast just referred to him as an R1 pick. LMAO

Between him and Beck, talk about dropping in the draft. Yikes
I’m still surprised Beck declared. But this QB class is relatively weak, so anything is possible behind Ward and Sanders and some teams will be willing to take on projects.
