For those that don't know, a new NASCAR game was announced in Q1 2024. What's really exciting is that the game is being developed by iRacing! The folks that made NR2003! Isn't that awesome?

I don't think a NASCAR game has had so much potential in a very long time. Unreal Engine is being used to develop this game, which adds even more intrigue.

Imagine buying iRacing and all the tracks and NASCAR cars for $60. I expect there to be DLC's for car packs and maybe some tracks, and that's not a bad thing.

It's questionable as to whether there will be a PC version, but it hasn't been completely ruled out.

There is going to be a massive influx of players, many of which can't afford iRacing.

I'm happy that the folks at iRacing didn't rush the game. I think we're going to get a masterpiece.

The game is set to release Q4 2025.

I'm cautiously optimistic given how Ignition went. That said, I also recognize that these are the same folks who gave us the awesome World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing game and its even more awesome sequel, World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24. Anyone who likes racing games and hasn't played either of those yet should absolutely do so.

Damn you, I had no idea there was a second WOO game last year, until this weekend. Now I'm out $70. :XXROFL: :XXROFL: :XXROFL: :XXROFL:

I don’t get as much time to play now, I’m doing my first season in career.
It lets you pick from micro sprints or midgets starting out. Obviously being Chili Bowl weekend I went with the midgets.

The in game wing button is new. I haven’t played the first one since last summer, so I’m pretty rusty on setups etc for now.
I have well over 500 hours on the first WoO game from this gen, so that’s not from lack of experience.

I know this is mainly just a driver style/preference thing but can also be tuned via custom setups. I find myself sliding into the corners and while I often feel like the car is turning decent, it drifts upwards at the same time and I find myself losing momentum (not bad just could keep a lot more momentum) and exiting corners a bit high.

Not sure if it’s loose or tight though honestly. I’m working on setups to solve that at a few tracks for now while doing my first season in career. I’ll admit one thing that does affect it and I don’t fully grasp is the wheel spacing.

I've tried them all and have some experience with the WoO sprint cars but tend to gravitate more towards the late models and modifieds. I stick with the slider setups (usually on 25% tight like I ran in the first game), so I can't offer you any advice in that regard. You likely have a far better understanding of the game than I do, and I'm sure you'll figure it out.

I am by no means a world-beater, so take this with a grain of salt, but I've found that at least in the late models/modifieds, I'm faster when I keep the car as straight as I can, even if I have to let off the gas just a little in the corners. If I just send it as hard as possible, full slide and full throttle, I tend to get that bogged down/momentum loss feeling, the car drifts up towards the wall too much, and my lap times are slower. This is especially noticeable in the late models, which turn hard to the right when you mash the gas.

I'm optimistic in that the same folks that made the WoO game are making this game. NASCAR needs a new game to lure new generation of fans as well as keep us old fogies that still game entertained. The last great NASCAR game I played was NASCAR Thunder 04, the Absolute GOAT of NASCAR gaming. If it has a few more features than NASCAR Heat 4, which was pretty okay I'll be happy as a start.

That’s definitely true, I just feel like there has to be a way to help that momentum loss with setups and potentially be a lot faster.

I still haven't gotten that much better yet, but just an FYI on you guys using slider setups etc, not sure if you know this exists. It has a "manual" for each car explaining the different setup options a bit etc.

Also this is from the game's official website and made by the devs, so it's definitely legit/correct information. It's an incredible resource rarely provided in these games with that level of detail. It's also yet another very promising sign for the new Nascar game.

My preference for custom setups comes from playing Nascar games SO MUCH growing up and realizing that there's ALWAYS room for improvement, and therefore I can't really stand to use defaults anymore.
