For those that don't know, a new NASCAR game was announced in Q1 2024. What's really exciting is that the game is being developed by iRacing! The folks that made NR2003! Isn't that awesome?

I don't think a NASCAR game has had so much potential in a very long time. Unreal Engine is being used to develop this game, which adds even more intrigue.

Imagine buying iRacing and all the tracks and NASCAR cars for $60. I expect there to be DLC's for car packs and maybe some tracks, and that's not a bad thing.

It's questionable as to whether there will be a PC version, but it hasn't been completely ruled out.

There is going to be a massive influx of players, many of which can't afford iRacing.

I'm happy that the folks at iRacing didn't rush the game. I think we're going to get a masterpiece.

The game is set to release Q4 2025.

I'm cautiously optimistic given how Ignition went. That said, I also recognize that these are the same folks who gave us the awesome World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing game and its even more awesome sequel, World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24. Anyone who likes racing games and hasn't played either of those yet should absolutely do so.

Damn you, I had no idea there was a second WOO game last year, until this weekend. Now I'm out $70. :XXROFL: :XXROFL: :XXROFL: :XXROFL:

I don’t get as much time to play now, I’m doing my first season in career.
It lets you pick from micro sprints or midgets starting out. Obviously being Chili Bowl weekend I went with the midgets.

The in game wing button is new. I haven’t played the first one since last summer, so I’m pretty rusty on setups etc for now.
I have well over 500 hours on the first WoO game from this gen, so that’s not from lack of experience.

I know this is mainly just a driver style/preference thing but can also be tuned via custom setups. I find myself sliding into the corners and while I often feel like the car is turning decent, it drifts upwards at the same time and I find myself losing momentum (not bad just could keep a lot more momentum) and exiting corners a bit high.

Not sure if it’s loose or tight though honestly. I’m working on setups to solve that at a few tracks for now while doing my first season in career. I’ll admit one thing that does affect it and I don’t fully grasp is the wheel spacing.

I've tried them all and have some experience with the WoO sprint cars but tend to gravitate more towards the late models and modifieds. I stick with the slider setups (usually on 25% tight like I ran in the first game), so I can't offer you any advice in that regard. You likely have a far better understanding of the game than I do, and I'm sure you'll figure it out.

I am by no means a world-beater, so take this with a grain of salt, but I've found that at least in the late models/modifieds, I'm faster when I keep the car as straight as I can, even if I have to let off the gas just a little in the corners. If I just send it as hard as possible, full slide and full throttle, I tend to get that bogged down/momentum loss feeling, the car drifts up towards the wall too much, and my lap times are slower. This is especially noticeable in the late models, which turn hard to the right when you mash the gas.

I'm optimistic in that the same folks that made the WoO game are making this game. NASCAR needs a new game to lure new generation of fans as well as keep us old fogies that still game entertained. The last great NASCAR game I played was NASCAR Thunder 04, the Absolute GOAT of NASCAR gaming. If it has a few more features than NASCAR Heat 4, which was pretty okay I'll be happy as a start.

That’s definitely true, I just feel like there has to be a way to help that momentum loss with setups and potentially be a lot faster.

I still haven't gotten that much better yet, but just an FYI on you guys using slider setups etc, not sure if you know this exists. It has a "manual" for each car explaining the different setup options a bit etc.

Also this is from the game's official website and made by the devs, so it's definitely legit/correct information. It's an incredible resource rarely provided in these games with that level of detail. It's also yet another very promising sign for the new Nascar game.

My preference for custom setups comes from playing Nascar games SO MUCH growing up and realizing that there's ALWAYS room for improvement, and therefore I can't really stand to use defaults anymore.

That's awesome my favorite game was 2005 Chase for the Cup which had the 3 national series and modifieds. I hope that means down the road there are opportunities for things like the modifieds to be added.

I like to see the East and West Series added. Let you pick which one to start in of the two, and move up from there.

Heck what if they added like the regional level too, from dirt to asphalt. Say you start your driver in micros in World of Outlaws and you could transfer them to the NASCAR game like how you used to be able to do that with NCAA and Madden with custom players.

Reminds me of Dirt 2 Daytona where you started racing on dirt tracks and worked your way up.

I appreciate the info. Regarding custom setups, I've used a few from my boy The Set-up Man on YouTube in the Heat games over the years. These days, though, I'm the type of guy who likes to keep it simple and just hop on the game and race, so I prefer the slider setups. To each their own.

I don't play the WoO game online, just strictly against the AI, and I am nowhere near knowledgeable enough about these dirt racing cars and how to drive them in the game to be toying around with custom setups. Like I said earlier, you're likely way ahead of me in that regard.

I mean i know I'm being over ambitious for what in the end are niche games but still it be cool, and the technology is there.
Yeah, you're asking for a lot, LOL. After Ignition, my bar is pretty low for the next NASCAR console game. I just want it to be fully functional and fun to play, like the WoO games are.

Will it have a career mode and a way to create your own paint scheme and choose your own number, etc....

If you are an individual with principles, morals, values and want to live an accomplished life will it give you the option to only drive Chevrolets, etc...

I hope with the ARCA Series being in this, that we get some of the tracks they go to that the other 3 series don't. Probably asking for a bit much on that but it would be pretty nice

Just to see I looked up tracks Iracing has that is on any of the 3 ARCA series calenders for 2025 and not also on a NASCAR calender aka not including Lime Rock or Rockingham.

They have these 4.

5 Flag Speedway
Kevin Harvicks Kern Raceway
Nashville Fairgrounds
The Bull Ring at Las Vegas

Now not to say they couldn't include the other but I think they'd stick with tracks they have scanned. They do have a bunch of other paved short tracks from the south and north east they could put in that aren't currently on the schedule (or in some cases even in existance) but time will tell.

If we have ARCA, I just want nonsensical wrecks and ARCA brakes.
I'm in a Facebook group with ARCA backmarker Alex Clubb and we were coming up with Lightning Challenges.
