Road courses and short tracks.
Huh?It might just become a cubed safer barrier, aftet all or the remaining racing area is gone.

There is only so much asphalt at BG. Making the walls thicker robs from the limited asphalt.Huh?
I can't find a thing besides better lights and a safer barrier. Those pictures look like they jacked it up and drove a brand new race track under it. I don't think they have the time, they should have started earlier. I think they have made it look like they cleaned the place up.I wonder if they are gonna add some asphalt in the infield to keep the track the same width
I dont think that is an option, doesnt Wake Forrest still play football at he staduim.I wonder if they are gonna add some asphalt in the infield to keep the track the same width
Winston Salem State plays there. Yes, Football is still played thereI dont think that is an option, doesnt Wake Forrest still play football at he staduim.

Arn Anderson?!? Jk jk
It's gonna be so strange watching Cup cars at Bowman Grey. A good friend of mine, know as Double A gave me a very cool gift yesterday.
Wonder if we can expect any "delays" in arrival.NASCAR Cup Cars Will Be Inspected in Charlotte Before Transported to Bowman Gray Clash
As the relocated Clash looms closer, NASCAR officials zero in on modern logistical solutions for the historic track.www.aol.com
Only if the Chevy haulers run side by side to block the Toyota rigs.Wonder if we can expect any "delays" in arrival.
How much is it going to cost to watch on TV? If it's one penny more than what I have I will miss it.
FYI: Bowman was a dumbass place to hold this event.
Yes, but no worse than where they were last year. Cup cars should not be running on a track that is shorter than a half mile.
Dirt racing format except the last part.. It works.

Yeah that is what Bowman Gray is known for, right? Kind of silly.....let's watch a hockey game expecting a fight, and when we don't get one? We have wasted our time.I don't think I have seen a Bowman Gray race on tv where
there wasn't a fight with fists or bumpers. I'm curious
if the Clash carries on that long-storied tradition.
Carrie Underwood will be performing karaoke with President Trump. What rappers have they booked for the intermission?
As long as we are taking WAGS, (wild ass guesses) It could be as simple as Nascar bought the thing, dumped a bunch of money in the track and are trying to get some of their money out of it.What, exactly, is the purpose of The Clash? I used to think it was a warm up for the 500 when it was in Daytona. Did a good job of getting fans hungry for the big day. Then, when it was moved to LA, I thought it was to attract new fans. That was a great location to do that....and honestly, racing on a track that small is kind of silly, but racing on a track that small in that stadium in that part of the country was genius. Now, NASCAR is moving it to the roots of the sport. Who are they trying to attract? The old school guys who will be pissed once we head to Mexico? The new fan?.....Don't even know what the hell Bowman Gray is....and don't care.....and dear God....please spare me the Mike Joy droning on and on about how great it all is. This feels like a cost effective solution to fulfill a tradition.....when you start cutting corners specifically for the purpose of maintaining a tradition, maybe it's time to stop? Don't get me wrong....I will watch, but I'm not sure this is the right direction....and now track regulars? WTF. I don't want to see them. Not even a little.....
They leased the track/stadium from the city, paid for and did improvements..does that work for ya?NASCAR manages the racing operations at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. NASCAR acquired the lease for the stadium from Winston-Salem Speedway, Inc. in March 2024. The lease runs through December 2050.
NASCAR's acquisition of the stadium includes managing racing operations and preserving the stadium's history.
The stadium was built in 1937 and was NASCAR's first weekly racetrack.
The Hawkins family and NASCAR founder Bill France Sr. brought motorsports to the stadium in 1949.
With all the history within the France family, someone wrote that this was fulfilling a special relationship with the facility. Something about Bill meeting his wife there way back. The LA element was a splash until it played out its fizz. Having the clash in Winston Salem during winter is not the best idea. The story I hear that an influx of money helped. With all the history within the France family, someone wrote that this was fulfilling a special relationship with the facility.
