Nascar Daytona 2025

25 laps, cautions don't count, no pitting except for repairs, no GWC.
I prefer it over the draft your buddy into the 500 option.
At least it would be less about who's connected to one of the bigger teams. It wouldn't be a total cure or eliminate all of the deal making but it would be an improvement.

But, but, so many buts, I don't want them to make a change for a one off situation. Just line em on Thursday and run the 150's.

It was just a fun thought, if anybody sees someone with a sign and shaking their fist at the track it won't be me(at least not this time).

9 open cars for 4 spots. Helio for sure, Allgaier, I am stumped on the rest
Truex for sure
Yeah, that leaves six guys for maybe two spots, assuming the #15 and #66 show. Maybe only one spot, depending on how Spiderman does. With a guaranteed spot and little on the line, I wonder if Helio will use his Duel strictly as a practice session, not worry about finishing position? Maybe buy some good will by dropping to the back at the end and letting someone else have a slot?

That's an altruistic idea, and i will let it go at that lol.

Glad to see that the numbers are going back up for entrants. Still wish it was 43 starting but at least this provides some intrigue.

He needs to practice being in the big one too though. They don't really do that in Indy much. :p ;) ;)

Holy smokes, 45 entries ? The Duels are going to be fun this year, first time in years!

41 cars guaranteed to race, and no start and parks? That's pretty cool to be honest.

40 if Helio qualifies without needing his provisional.

Hot take- wonder if 23XI gets asked to sandbag in the duels by the other open teams? By using the provisional, they would forfeit points, finishing position, and prize money (which is minimal, as it's an open team). All of that is a drop in the bucket of $$ compared to the sponsorship money and the exposure for 23XI/Helio/NASCAR. Is the loss of purse/points really a deterrent for an open team that's bringing in a global superstar? Not trying to accuse anything, just thinking out loud.

NASCAR wouldn't give a **** if there was any sign of manipulation, they want Helio in the 500 as bad as 23XI.

Helio is driving for Trackhouse.

It really wouldn't matter much to them in the duels if he does. Kind of like how pole winners often times just get a bit of practice in in years past.

Assuming you mean Trackhouse and not 23XI, what would they gain? Helio is in either way. The other open teams are on their own.

Two of the open teams will lock in by being the fastest two of the opens. I doubt the slower open teams will ask the fast two to lay back.

I'm sure someone will ask anyway even after I write this, but it's the Fox schedule that's why there is no Xfinity listed.
Trying to find scheduling this year is going to be a challenge. John Morris on Fox was moved when Fox re-organized. You know the yellow ones I used to post? Pockrass has mostly been pretty bad. I think he dinks them out on a cel phone. Hopefully somebody from the Xfinity CW side will start posting their TV schedule.
