In previous years, the NASCAR Pick 'Em game, in its "Driver Used" spreadsheet, has utilized a color-coded breakdown of driver groups based upon the distribution of drivers as per the Driver Group Game.

However, the Driver Group Game has ceased operation upon the conclusion of the 2024 race season, thereby ending the use of the game's distribution of drivers.

Which leaves game management with the following conundrum, that is whether to utilize a method to group drivers on the "Drivers Used" spreadsheet or simply list them alphabetically.

These are the two options being considered:

If you intend on playing the NASCAR Pick 'Em 2025 game, cast a ballot as to your spreadsheet preference.

Remind me, you can only pick a driver once regardless of the standings / color grouping, right? The groupings don't play any role in how the game is played?

Yes and no.

The groupings don't have a role in how the game is scored but some players have used the groupings to assist in making their driver picks.

The groupings are simply meant to subjectively indicate who the better or worse performing Cup drivers are.

The Driver Group Game, which required four driver picks per race, used those groupings to limit what drivers could be used for a particular race.

In that game, a player was limited to using one A (green) Group driver, two B (yellow) Group drivers, and one C (red) Group driver as their picks for a particular race.

I'll go ahead and vote for alphabetic order. The group listing really is unnecessary, since you can only use drivers once regardless.

As strategies come into play for the last 8 -10 races for me, the color grouping works best for myself. That's me though. It seems easier for me to see who has what picks left more quickly for my brain.

I am constantly trying to save some good drivers for the end of the season and avoiding duplicate picks. Maybe to a fault,to the point of practically doing my own list.

I prefer the groups as a rough - very rough - guide to who is on the gas versus who is on the bench. Then I do my own fine tuning... for example I'd kick Haley up to the B group and move Preece down to C group... YMMV.

Just fyi. Some people I know that have used the Driver Group Game in the past have shifted to https://www.fantrax.com/game/nascar

I took a look at the fantrax game and several other fantasy games as well as the NASCAR.com Power Rankings for 2025.

What jumped out was that none of them show Bowman to be among the Top 8 drivers (green group) for 2025 while most have Logano in that group.

Also, Stenhouse Jr. is typically not within the 9th through 24th best drivers (yellow group) while Allmendinger, Berry, Haley, and Van Gisbergen are in several.

A group listing of drivers on the "Drivers Used" spreadsheet is currently polling higher among those intending to participate in the game.

Polling closes at noon on February 14th.

I used Fantrax in the past. I recall it let you move drivers between groups, but it may have changed. I also recall it had a one-time fixed rate fee.

Yes, the owner/manager can move drivers, I'm in a couple of leagues where it has happened and both are 100% payout.

I'm in a couple of their other sports games and no fees.
