F1 2025 News/Misc.

Not very bold prediction:
Jack will not be a full-time driver by the end of May.

Flavio doing Flavio things.

I hope Doohan does the best he can to habe a full season.

I haven't paid much attention to Alpine recently, but after reading your comments I googled news about Franco's signing. Yikes. Flavio sounding like Helmut at RB. Jack is going to have a lot of pressure to perform early in the season.

For the first time since it's inception, Gene won't have to put his personal money into the Haas F1 Team this year. Also for the first time, they will have enough money to spend all the way to the cost cap. As much as I enjoyed Gunther's personality there is no denying the effect Komatsu has had since taking over.

I wonder if his involvement in online gambling has anything to do with this.

ESPN is not renewing F1 rights.

Looks like NBC and Netflix want them. Remember, NBC never wanted to drop F1.

NBC wanted exclusivity while Disney never minded coexisting with F1 TV, and Netflix has only gotten more expensive while overall library quality has declined. Can’t see this as anything other than a lose-lose, especially if you assume NBC brings back in-race commercials.

Carlos Sainz has detailed how the attitude of the Williams team during his first experience of working with them at the end of season test in Abu Dhabi left him “extremely impressed”, with the Spaniard noting the squad’s motivation despite a challenging run of races to close out 2024.

Every once in a while the guy actual has a good idea.
Ya know, one of the reasons often cited for NASCAR not being able to draw new manufacturers is that no one wants to develop a V-8 that will only be used for racing with minimal production benefits. I don't see why a V-10 would be any different, and I can see why the manufacturers wouldn't want to go that way. What's the ROI, reviving a sound no one has heard in a couple of decades? The younger fans fueling the series' popularity don't miss what they have never heard, and they're more environmentally motivated too.

A lot of manufacturers are producing V8s for sports car racing and production sports cars. In the case of Aston Martin even a V12.
And btw the current hybrid engines have zero relevance for any production models.

they're more environmentally motivated too.
Young people who care about racing are not environmentally motivated and as MBS suggested the engines would be powered by synthetic fuels.
