A photoshopped image turned into a race invite.

Would be huge if she accepted.

For those who are not up to speed on pop culture, Sabrina Carpenter is one of the hottest acts in pop music right now. She’s opened for Taylor Swift, and her career really has taken off thanks especially to her song Espresso.

I think she also passes the @Greg test lol.

I usually don't follow this stuff but I thought he was dating the Blaney's sister.

Maybe she'll pick up Pitbull's share of Trackhouse.

Still, it's nice to see owners and drivers bringing in more contemporary performers. NASCAR itself seems stuck on legacy country acts.

I know nothing about Sabrina Carpenter other than her name and the fact that her aunt, Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson), is a Scientologist.

And I still could care less about her.

And if she showed up at races, it would be a huge draw. She’s not Taylor Swift popular but she’s up there in the top five easily. Girls love her, boys love to look at her.

Oh yeah the Disney show she was on was the Boy Meets World sequel show, the most watched Disney Channel series ever.

I’ve listened to her Espresso song more times than I want to admit. It’s very catchy in an era where most music is bland as hell.

So let me get this click bait straight. William Byron hasn't invited Sabrina to a race, but here it is posted in the Nascar Chat thread lol.

We caught up with Byron on Friday to get to the bottom of things ... and while it was all based on false pretenses, he certainly didn't distance himself from the idea -- while also giving props on the quip.

You don’t have it right.

A fake image circulated of William Byron shooting his shot. He denied that, noted it was based on false pretenses but said he’d love for her to come to a race.

And TMZ isn’t clickbait. They have an impressive record.

It's not TMZ that's clickbait, it's this discussion. A driver saying he'd love for someone to attend a race is a questionable topic for it's own discussion. Maybe in the Random topic.

If she does show, I doubt she'll waste everyone's time hogging the pre-race activities and having her limo take parade laps. That would put her a notch above other recent celebrity attendees.

This single thread is better than the 10 annual threads about the playoffs, the annual deathbed thread, the “lost a step” threads and most of the other useless ****.

SOI can take several seats.

Maybe he needs a cup of Espresso.

You forgot Hailie Deegan.

I’ve seen her mentioned on Twitter before but never heard any of her music. The Venn diagram of NASCAR and pop music has a pretty small overlap, I’m not sure how much lasting pull she would have for the sport.

It could be a positive if she showed up in some nice outfits to wear during the invocation and national anthem.

The lost a step or care anymore threads are very useful. Several drivers have been accurately identified by the RF Elders for laying down on the wheel in the past and then they got their shiet back together after being exposed. Careers have been saved.

Was going to add this to my post but ran out of time to edit. A whole other discussion could be had on this but the American monoculture has been reduced down to essentially politics and the NFL. Outside of those two topics, very few events draw much of a national awareness anymore.

Once upon a time a major celebrity getting into NASCAR may have noticeably moved the needle but those days are gone. One of the major impacts of the social mediafication of society is people getting into bubbles and knowing little to nothing of other major happenings (i.e. myself and others in this thread). For better or worse that’s where we are and I don’t see much changing.

It's also changed how we each define 'major happenings'. That's been diverging with every new alternative to the Big Four TV networks.

I don't regard an off-hand casual mention of possible race attendance as major.

Streaming killed "appointment viewing."

Put her in an ARCA car at Dega, she can’t be worse than some of them

Imagine the headlines… “Sabrina Carpenter wrecks Cleetus McFarland in NASCAR race”

In all seriousness, it would be neat to see NASCAR do some kind of celebrity race during All Star Week possibly. But I don't think that would work in North Wilkesboro.

If you could get enough of them that have at least turned a lap in something somewhere, it could be a good concept. Cleetus, Frankie Muniz, Patrick Dempsey, etc.
