I love short track racing (Taylor's Version)
Who are our nominees for the Big Brain and the Bonehead of the Week?
Big Brain for me is Greg Ives. Looks like they had the right strategy calls all race. They just came up one short against the most talented driver in the history of the sport.
Bonehead: Penske. These pit road miscues, especially with the 22 and 21, and the mechanical problems for the 12 have hit a critical mass IMO. How many times does Josh Berry have to overcome a pit road mishap? How many times will Joey Logano lose races in the pits? How many blown engines will Ryan Blaney suffer? How many times in the past three years has Blaney had the fastest car and ended up losing 20+ spots throughout the day in the pits? It seems like the only team that doesn't have these constant issues outside of the drivers' control is the team Tim Cindric's boy drives for.
Honorable Big Brain mention: Artie Kempner is gone at FOX NASCAR and there was already a noticeable difference.
