Audi drops DTM

Abt Sportsline will switch from Audi to Lamborghini next season. This will most likely leave Audi without any teams in the series for the first time in a quarter century since the DTM reboot in 2000.
Obviously this doesn't come as a surprise after Audi stopped supporting customer teams.

At least the DTM is in a much better spot now that Audi’s absence really won’t be felt much at all.

It would be nice to see some Fords over there like in the old DRM days, but I don’t think that’s among their top priorities for the expansion of the Mustang efforts in 2025. But the grid is fine as it is anyways.

Wow, glad I was wrong. Not just the DTM aspect, but really cool to see them take on the NLS and N24 as well.

Just need to get one or two cars housed over in Australia now so they can run the Bathurst 12H.

Gerd Ruch infact made a demo run in his 1994 race car alongside the GT3 Mustangs during testing at Oschersleben.
If they did this during race weekend at the Norisring the crowd would go crazy.

It has also been announced that there will still be an Audi on the 2025 grid as Land Motorsport will field a single car for Ricardo Feller.

I cannot lie, DTM with the GT3s is fantastic.

Tbh, I've watched maybe three races in the last three years.
GT3 cars have changed so much in the last 10 years and imo they aren't well-suited for sprint races right now.
