Seems pretty dangerous to have a wall that juts out like that..

I mean, it’s either that, or have a small gap and allow the guys to slam into the end of the wall at 180, like Mark Martin did at a significantly slower speed at Michigan on pit road. Scary wreck, but I still think a jutted out wall is the better option.
