The biggest race of the year is coming up and despite many people whining about it it's here to stay until 2031.

Friday practice was quite a surprise with Ferrari looking competent all of a sudden.

For the first time two tire stops will be mandated in a race, I wonder if anyone will be creative in interpreting that rule.

I realize why many people gripe about Monaco and it being boring with no passing but for me it's part of Formula 1 history. I still enjoy seeing these talented drivers and their cars going around Monaco. I still remember the horror when I was a kid watching the Lorenzo Bandini crash. I remember many exciting Monaco races too so I'm glad its here to stay for a while.

I gave it a try every few years then stopped. Not my cup of motor oil. History doesn't matter much to me in sports

I wasn't feeling it for Lando this weekend
but he pulled a rabbit out of the hat and I think
he even surprised himself. He had a 3rd here in '21
so he should be able to get to the podium. All these
pit stops will tell the story though.

Lando badly needed this performance. Chuck shouldn't be disappointed considering how his season has been going so far.

Hadjar was super impressive in 6th. Back to back Top 7 spots on the grid for Alonso, he gotta get that points finish tomorrow.

That’s unequivocally the most I’ve ever been impressed by Norris. Leclerc might be the best qualifier at Monaco since Senna, and Norris just snatched that pole away from him.

2 mandatory pit stops... is that just for Monaco or any other races this season in f1?

This running is a bit bittersweet - kicking off the Memorial Day weekend tripleheader for the last time for the foreseeable future. Hopefully it’s a good one. The additional mandatory pit stop could spice things up a bit.
Yeah it is bittersweet. It all started in 1993 when Charlotte added lights allowing
drivers to compete in the Indy 500 and Coke 600.

Sucks that they moved it but at least the race will stay.

Toro Rosso played this strategy perfectly. 6th and 8th and both stops done.

Ocon also secured 7th.

Way to go LANDO !!! Fastest lap on the last lap
for the win !

Time to head to Indy .

Perhaps the silver lining to next year’s regulations is that Monaco may end up being the biggest beneficiary of all the circuits on the calendar. Current cars are simply too big and fast to allow for passing, despite the pace differences across the different tire compounds.

Huge weekend for Norris to regain momentum in the championship race.

Boring race on the worst racetrack ever. It's impossible to pass.
