Notes – Sixth race this season on this tire set-up for Cup cars: Being on 18-inch bead diameter tires, NASCAR Cup teams will run a different tire set-up than those in the NASCAR Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series at Nashville this week . . . this is the same right-side tire Cup teams ran at Nashville last season, but with a different left-side tire . . . compared to what was run at this track in 2024, this left-side features a compound change for more tire wear and lap-time fall-off . . . Cup teams have run this same combination of left- and right-side tires at Las Vegas, Homestead, Darlington, Texas and Kansas earlier this season . . . with this 18-inch tire and its lower profile sidewall, NASCAR Cup cars do not run inner liners in any of their tires.
Goodyear quote – Stu Grant, Goodyear’s general manger of global race tires: “Nashville is a fun challenge for the teams, being a fast, 1.3-mile track with a concrete surface. We have a different left-side than we ran there last year, but teams should have a good notebook built up on this set-up because we’ve run it several times this season.”
