2025 Bommarito Automotive Group 500 @ Gateway

That was some pretty wild fuel drama. Lots of interesting results - Rasmussen came all the way back for a podium, Daly and JHR 6th, VeeKay and DCR 7th, Shwartzman with PREMA’s first top 10.

Kirkwood might end up making this an actual title fight. That Indy penalty was a pretty big blow though.

Great race, it's incredible how a track can race so much at night. There were so many comers and goers last night, this is the IndyCar we know and love.
Rasmussen would have won this race if not for the penalty. He's a future oval race winner.

I don't think I've ever seen a three car team implode during one race the way Penske did yesterday. It was unreal to watch.
Of course Dixon finds a way to end up in the lead near the end after being mid the whole race.
No clue why his team didn't react to Kirkwood's stop immediately. They gave this one away pretty easily.

When was the last time Dixie actually had race-winning pace? It feels like he now runs 15th most weeks and either finishes there or somehow gets up front late due to strategy.

Watched a lot of racing over the weekend and once again I enjoyed the Indycar race more than any other series. So many drivers that were competitive and had me wondering which one of them might win throughout the entire race.

btw, watched both NASCAR races, Indy NXT, and much of Le Mans so had a lot to make comparisons to. Enjoyed those races too but Indycar is still the best.

Sunday evening racing is gonna be the wave of the future IMO for NASCAR and Indycar both.

IndyCar, FOX, and the promoter took a big swing with this one since an event can’t really be a commercial success without ticket sales like NASCAR can. The crowd certainly seemed pretty respectable for being moved to a Sunday night on short notice. Hopefully it worked out for the track and other promoters can take note of it.

Generally speaking, there’s also a finite number of TV-watching race fans out there and the less Cup and IndyCar can compete, the better.
