Chloe the cat has officially submitted her picks for the rest of the season to the commissioner. She's recently voiced frustration, claiming that she feels too much pressure to wake up from her Saturday cat naps prematurely simply to make her pick. She's also voiced concern for me, noticing that I'll often stay up past my bedtime waiting for her to wake up and make a pick. To be honest, I think the reason for that concern is that she doesn't want me sleeping in, missing work and possibly receiving discipline, because if I lose my job, who's supposed to buy her food and spoil her with toys that she never touches? To stick with the plan of her making the picks, we agreed that I'd lay out all the remaining drivers for her and she'd select them, one by one in the order that she wants to use them. She does understand that Cody Ware likely wont do anything for us, so she did give me permission to use an alternative driver the weekend she selected him, if there in fact is an alternative driver available that weekend.

Full disclosure...NASCAR fan since 1982, cat owner since 1987, fantasy NASCAR player since the early 2000s

Likely an unpopular opinion but I'm really beaten down when I go to this thread and I have to get past this bulsh!t repeatedly

My apologies. I’ll back off.

Damn, I can only imagine how tough it must be to wade through the post season posts regarding the NASCAR Pick 'Em Awards Banquet.

btw, Chloe has been invited to be the Guest of Honor at this year's banquet, provided that her entourage is keep to a bare minimum.

Are we having fun yet ?

Rumors are flying that a hound (thought to be a Boxer) residing at the @aunty dive residence feels disrespected following the selection of Chloe as Guest of Honor at the 2025 Awards Banquet.

The canine picture postings by @aunty dive have been a regular thing on the Pick 'Em threads for several years without man's best friend ever having been selected as the Guest of Honor at any Banquet.

Thought is being given to adding a second Guest of Honor for the 2025 Banquet, to be selected by @aunty dive, but that raises the prospect of a co-mingling of the two honorees, and their separate entourages, that eventually winds up being a late night post-Awards Banquet gathering where cats and dogs are later found to be sleeping together.

BREAKING NEWS!

After much deliberation, we here at Brentford Incorporated have decided to part ways with Chloe as our personal spokesperson and business partner. It had became apparent that her personality and goofiness simply no longer aligned with our business model, nor did it align with the expectations of our loyal fans. This has been a mutual parting of ways and her contributions will still remain a big part of our strategy going forward. With that said and without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to our new partner, Colin. Colin has a PhD in finance and graduated from Harvard back in 2023. Colin is much more of a behind the scenes kind of guy, so his presence will be significantly less than that of Chloe’s. So please join us in welcoming Colin to our team.

I wonder if the 23X1 engine tuner was able to get Bubba’s engine started overnight?

Congratulations to @LewTheShoe and @Jorge De Guzman, the recipients of the "Highest Finishing Pick" award following the first place finish of their pick, Chase Briscoe, in The Great American 400 at Pocono Raceway.

The top spot on the player standings board found @kkfan91 pushed aside after holding that position for the last nine consecutive races.

By picking a Top Five finishing driver for the fifth time in the last six races, @RayinTX propelled himself from the 16th position to his current spot as the standings' leader.

Other current notable streaks include @Biggreen695, @Conover, and @Greg who have each picked a Top Ten finishing driver in each of the last three races.

Those streaks have enabled @Biggreen695 and @Conover to crack the Top Five Club while @Greg inched closer to a Top 20 spot in the standings for the first time this season.

The "Most Upward Movement" award was shared by @LewTheShoe and @Clutch who, by picking the first and second place race finishers respectively, each gained five spots in the standings.

The "Slipping and Sliding" award was reluctantly taken by a disheartened @FLRacingFan, the only player to have participated in the Pick 'Em game since its inception in 2014, when his pick, Bubba Wallace, retired from the race after 54 laps and was credited with a next to last place finish.

Although spared a "Wiping Up the Rear Award" the finish by Wallace caused @FLRacingFan to drop nine spots in the standings.
