All right, the polls are now closed. Thanks to all for participating. We have a tie, so shirt #2 it is. ^_^

I'm gonna go for the navy blue for that shirt, too. It's one of the team's colors, the darker background makes the design pop more, and the Lynx shirt I got is the same exact shade of gray as that shirt would be.

For anyone who may be interested, they also have Sophie shirts with similar designs. I'm holding off for now since she just got to Indy and this is her last year on her current contract. If she re-ups with them for next year, I'll buy one then.

As of this moment, Phee is my MVP. I like Angel and Paige but don't think either of them are even close to being in the MVP conversation right now. As good as she already is, and as important as she is for Indiana, I wouldn't go with Boston over CC. Only reason I wouldn't consider A'ja right now is because Vegas has been terrible (for them) so far this season.

I have absolutely no idea who I would pick for Most Improved. Not 100% sure who my Rookie of the Year is, either. My head says Paige, but my heart and pro-Mystics bias says Kiki. Dark horse, Sonia Citron.

I’d personally go with Kiki over Paige for ROTY since Washington looks like a legit contender.

But there’s no way it won’t be Paige. I actually see this year in the opposite light as last year. The people who wanted Angel over CC are all Paige fans because they want Paige to be better.

I wouldn't go as far as to call the Mystics a legit contender right now, but their future is bright. Kiki and Sonia will only continue to learn and get better. I can't wait to see how Georgia Amoore fits in with them next year.
 
Minnesota is 18-4 at the moment, which is crazy. Phoenix beat them the other night, and Chicago just beat them today. Cardoso and Reese both had double-doubles. I'm definitely gonna have to check at least one of those games out. Gonna finish up Indy/Atlanta first - I just got done watching the first half. Pretty fun game so far.

I had no plans to watch Chicago at all once Sloot went out for the season, but I'm probably gonna have to make an exception for that game.

Angel is the best rebounder there’s ever been and it’s not even close. If she’s in the paint, she’s coming up with the ball every single time and you can’t stop her.

I’m eating crow. Chicago is right to build the franchise around her. She will go down as the best defender in the history of women’s basketball.

It’s a shame shes such a drama queen.

AB should be getting a lot more consideration as one of the best players in the league but won’t because she plays for Indy. The fact that both the media and the players voted her 9th among frontcourt players for the ASG is embarrassing for everyone involved.

Honestly, though, what even is a frontcourt player according to WNBA All-Star Game criteria? According to that, darn near every swingwoman is a guard. :lol2:

To be clear, that crap she pulled at the start of the season which set the tone for the year, I’ll never like or respect her.

She never apologized and nobody ever held her responsible for it.

Likewise, to be clear - and this is to everyone here - I will soon have both a CC and a Reese shirt. I like both of them, I refuse to choose between them, and I'll be keeping it strictly basketball when discussing them moving forward. Not trying to be rude, and it's nothing personal. I just don't have any interest in the drama whatsoever.
 
Really fun game yesterday between Indy and Atlanta. Jordin Canada went OFF in that first half. I was glad to see Rhyne Howard return to the game in the second half after tweaking her knee somehow in the first half and having to be carried off the court. Rhyne is one of the players who was on my final, inadvertently secret All-Star ballot. I'm a fan. She does so much for Atlanta on both ends of the floor.

Indy was a completely different team than they were in that last game against the Valkyries. Sure, CC had an off night scoring, but she didn't have an off night facilitating. With the roster they have right now, I feel like her scoring is just a bonus. Her ability to run the offense and get all of the talent around her involved is most important.
 
Speaking of the Valks, that Aces/Valks game must have been a banger. A'ja Wilson had 34 points and 16 boards, and Vegas needed every bit of that herculean effort to beat the Valks by 2 points.
 
I could listen to Debbie Antonelli talk basketball all day long. She almost always teaches me something new or explains something in a way I hadn't thought about before, without coming across as patronizing or condescending. As someone who loves seeing good, clean defense, I appreciate this short take from her from a couple of weeks ago. I've also heard her get into this brief freedom of movement explanation during games, including the Indy/Atlanta game.



To the refs' credit, I think they mostly got it right in that particular game. I noticed them calling more fouls on players getting too physical on the perimeter, including with CC. I've also noticed them tightening up on the illegal/moving screens this year. Simply enforce the rules, and the players will adjust accordingly.
 
Unbelievable!! Even with all the games she has missed this season.

We’ve seen how good Caitlin Clark is at sharing the love and spotlight with her teammates. The Indiana Fever guard had a record-breaking rookie season, in which she put up 322 assists, breaking the single-season assists record. Not only that, her competitive fire and hunger to improve have led her to spend hours in the lab during the off-season.

And we’re seeing the results in real-time! CC was at the center of a show-stopping possession in the middle of the second quarter. She blocked JJ Quinerly’s shot, and then turned around to throw a full-court pass to her teammate Sophie Cunningham. In doing so, however, she made history!
Through this game, Caitlin Clark has become the fastest guard in WNBA history to reach 100 assists in a season, per @PolymarketHoops on X. It is a testament to the six-foot-tall guard’s greatness, as she’s only played limited games and minutes this season due to injury, and still managed to break this record.
