F1 2025 News/Misc.

i have a gut feeling this could be the first to get booted out, we'll see if any other person that is in the same position at other teams as Horner will be let go too.

A guy who was once banned from the sport has been welcomed back with open arms as a de facto team principal, so anything is in the table. With that said, I doubt Jos has any team management aspirations in mind, and Marko has largely favored the Verstappen camp amidst all the turmoil at Red Bull. If anything, Marko will probably retire before much longer.

It’s not the worst situation for him at the moment. He can see how the pecking order shakes out under the new regulations before making a decision next year. If there’s any truth to the rumors, Mercedes teams could have a pretty big leg up like they did in 2014, with a lot more doubts about the Red Bull/Ford powertrain.

It would be interesting to see when and where we see Christian Horner back in F1 after he has been officially out of Red Bull. There have been rumors that he might be joining Cadillac where he may partner up with Checo once again, which would be really interesting to see. Do you guys see this happening?

I think it is more likely he buys into Alpine, who need to replace Fabio.

Impressions so far are that Cadillac are going to lean into the ‘MURICA theme much more than Haas ever have, which I think will be good for building a strong fan base before they even turn a wheel on track.

I finally picked up a stream for "F1 The Movie," and came away with mixed feelings. Cinematically it was close to a masterpiece, but the story was a bit of a letdown. Overall, it was still worth watching and I think it will probably draw in more fans.

Now we need a WEC movie, or even a reboot of Lemans.

Three minutes in and not a single direct quote from any driver yet, just voice-over narration. Not sure how much faith to put in this but I don't know the history of the poster. If you're going to attribute statements to someone, at least play the actual interview with the person's voice, even if it has to be translated. Without that, we have no way of telling what was really said.

NASCAR syndrome
Fix stuff that don't need fixing. How dumb do they think young people are?

F1 already has one of the shortest feature race lengths of all the big forms of motorsport, with plenty of one-stop races to boot. We’re going to make them even shorter based off of how many views highlight videos get on YouTube?

I'm sorry, but F1 races are already some of the shortest in all of sports. If someone seriously can't sit and watch for 90 minutes, their brain is seriously rotted. NASCAR races are 3/4 hours long, and that's quite literally part of what I love about it.

And I'm saying this as a young Gen Z-er. The demographic that they're trying oh so hard to cater to.

90 minutes can drag if there isn't much passing.
If young people are losing interest in Formula 1, then that's likely the problem. The racing itself is boring asf after lap one. But the executives will see young people losing interest and just assume that Tik Tok-ifying the races and adding a **** load more gimmicks is the solution instead of improving the racing quality.
