Cup RACE thread --- Richmond

Jesse Love in a RCR car isn't cutting Bowman any slack.
33 and 8 came out of pits on new tires and passed Blaney and took air off his car when AD was 1.1 sec behind. AD caught him because of that. Happened when TV was at commercial. I watch on NZ feed with no commercials.

Us Byron fans don’t give a darn about how NBC feels about the regular season champion, cuz we love it!

Look bro, you should know that things are “gimmicks” when people don’t like them.

Byron locked up the inside track a deep playoff run tonight. It’s no small achievement.

1st thing I thought was what a points race they are having and they should let it roll for the rest of the season. I don't listen to the broadcast I go with the radio. I wonder how much time they spend talking about the playoffs compared to the racing. The pre show it was about 50%.

The preshow has been crap for years now.

Shhh, loose lips...

NBC not giving a $hit about the regular season champion is all you need to know that it’s them that’s all in on this WWE inspired circus gimmick system.
I never made to the end of stage two before I switched the channel for a little Gunsmoke and then Columbo.
I hate this car.

I wish I could get on board with this crap car. I can’t pretend a soft Goodyear tire is the answer. They shouldn’t have to manipulate the compound to compensate for an aero piece of schit.

My change to the whole championship fiasco

Winner of reg season (wrs)

Automatically in final 4

For some reason wrs does not advance in a round

We now have 5 drivers in final race

I would want softer tires and tire management to be required even with the most perfect car Nascar would ever have.

I love having the comers and goers, and the closing speeds. Apart from the RP pack racing it is the best way I know to avoid a long single file.

The crap car put on a good race last night, something it hasn't done on short tracks in a while. I don't care how they achieved it.

I know it's been a couple days, but does anyone know what happened to Ryan Preece? He was on a good strategy but finished 35th.

Jeff Glucks Twitter has some of it. You have to scroll down a ways. Looks like bad strategy from what little I can read. Burned up his sets of tires early maybe?

I have not been around much the last few weeks and that's not because Chase has had a couple really tough ones - just a lot of personal BS. I wanted to say though that I thought the race was GREAT Saturday night. The major tire fall off and all the passing and strategy it led to was just awesome.

That said.....Austin Dillion? Really? I just don't get it. Most seem to agree that Austin is lacking talent and only in the car cause dear old grand-dad owns it and I have been very close to believing that myself over the years. I mean he is barley competitive at best the vast majority of the time but this win was the most "genuine" performance win I have seen for him and I just don't understand how in equipment that is supposedly lacking with a mid at best driver they are able to come up with a set up that put a whoopin on the field mostly.

As for Chase - It had to end sooner or later but to lose his top 20 streak and no DNF streak right before the playoffs is a tough one. He had a great run earlier this summer cranking out top-5's and a win and I questioned then if they were peaking too soon. Time will tell but I think a good result at Daytona will be helpful but it's way out of his hands there of course.

Also - What the hell was Kyle Bush doing? I was really irritated with Jeff Burton because he was trying to sell it as just one of those deals but the replay and Kyle's onboard clearly show him just wondering down the track while Chase is holding his line. Just very odd as to WHY he was moving down there and why the spotter was not telling him to hold his line.

That's weird, Ryan Preece had more sets of tires than most of the field.
