I do expect complaints about the point system to start up again once the honeymoon period expires.
It doesn't matter what points system is used, people will complain regardless.

Joey has won tons of races at all sorts of different tracks across a couple different generations of car and should have no problem adapting to the new format. The issue was in just how much exploited the format in his most recent title run. It’ll be much harder for anyone to Mickey Mouse their way to a title now, as you’ll need to be more representative by stringing together 26 good and then 10 great races in succession. Someone who wins one race and finishes 15th in the regular season will have a much steeper hill to climb now than he did in 2024.So whats the overall opinion like for this format?
I think its a good change.. never needed to change from it in the first place lol but yeah I like it.
Looking forward to this season even more now.
Been seeing some Logano hate in other places.. "he wont luck into one now" and other typical whiny crybaby bs like that.. but I saw a graphic that showed he would have 4 under this format![]()
I have a problem with Mark disappearing from the NASCAR scene until he got his ego stroked with the Hall. I think he loved the attention with all of this format stuff. It was hard to listen to him, honestly. All of this "fighting" and "winning" crap. I believe that @StandOnIt posted some cryptic X post from Mark about the Biffle tragedy, and that was about all of the attention seeking stuff I could handle. You appear to be on your own crusade against Mark Martin
He doesn't like that he is still the best to never win one over Hamlet. You appear to be on your own crusade against Mark Martin
So basically describing a full season format?I'm happy they got rid of win and in. But they shouldn't give the playoff teams huge bonus points for getting into the playoffs. They should keep everyone on the same point system throughout the year including the playoffs. That way teams can improve their final standing at the end of the year.

Exactly, some folks just can’t seem to grasp that reality.I'd take all those graphics with an entire box of salt. As Logano and Johnson said after the announcement, teams would have made different strategic decisions if a Chase system had been in place.
Strategy changes with the eliminations of 'win and in' and playoff points. When you think about it, nothing really changes for 26 races.
Probably not but the playoffs weren't delivering those either.Honest question....Will there be more eyes on the sport?
No, everyone who falls out of the playoffs continues to compete with the field. The playoffs determine a champion, P2 on back is a full season format. So basically describing a full season format?
Who knows? But the serious fans that stay around won't need a computer to follow the clown show they had. I'm confident the gerbils at NBC will do their best to complicate it like they did making the whole race about the damn cut off car, but there are noticeable less chances for doing so..Will there be more eyes on the sport?

Sorry for your loss. The constant blinking of the scoring taking up a large part of the screen with gerbils howling while watching a couple of backmarker cars racing for the cutoff spot was spellbinding in it's own special way.The playoffs weren’t that difficult to follow. I’m certain that any “serious fan” can do basic math.
The format was flawed and was a bit convoluted but it wasn’t difficult.

Well I do care what points system WE use. Watching drivers dominate the season all year long to lose the championship illegitimately because of some made up pencil necked executives ideas that a one race clown show decided the championship because they thought it looked good on their bottom line?I really don’t care what point system we use. I love stock car racing and I love watching teams strategize around the systems they’re given.

'WE'? Do you have @Revman Syndrome? See your doctor or Toyota dealer for assistance!Well I do care what points system WE use.
Technically, I believe it was a pen and a bar napkin. At some point, someone sits down with a pen and paper and tries to create a fair way to determine a champion.
Indeed I can’t stand Hamcrap either. Under the new Chase system, or any points system if in effect last year, he wouldn’t have been even close to in contention for a 2025 championship. Having said that, agree he is a very good driver and is probably the best to have not won a championship.I can't stand hamlin, but he is by far the best to never win a championship. Stats don't lie and don't care about popularity.
I might not be a data scientist but I've definitely worked with big numbers and been published and there was no way I was calculating points as drivers ran in that system with the introduction of the stage points. No one was. They could barely get the ticket to keep up with it all.The playoffs weren’t that difficult to follow. I’m certain that any “serious fan” can do basic math.

Aint that the truth. not going to make everyone happyIt doesn't matter what points system is used, people will complain regardless.
Not to mention that they cut points every round and froze those drivers from advancing, of course this came after they reset points from the "regular season".I might not be a data scientist but I've definitely worked with big numbers and been published and there was no way I was calculating points as drivers ran in that system with the introduction of the stage points. The person who needs fixing is yourself. Time to wake up out of your make believe word, wake up and smell the coffee.Fixed that for you.
NBC is gone. You got what you’ve wanted for years. Which is more cable-exclusive races.

I haven't watched cable news in so long I had no idea msnbc was sold and re branded ms now.MSNBC doesn't even exist anymore, stop relying on AI for information.
You're not badly out of date. It happened within the last few months.I haven't watched cable news in so long I had no idea msnbc was sold and re branded ms now.![]()
Keep up.
USA Network is owned by Versant, a subsidiary of NBCUniversal, which is part of Comcast.
When the gerbils show up on the USA network like they have in the past maybe you will figure it out.
Versant is being publicly traded. That does not mean it is up for sale.Versant is also up for sale.

Once again Versant isn't up for sale, it is being publicly traded instead of being under the Comcast umbrella (which is a publicly traded conglomerate that NBC is included in) NBC Universal still owns more than 50% of Versant...remember the big word.... subsidiaryThe entire point of this is to sell.
NBC transferred NASCAR rights to Versant because NBC no longer has any use for NASCAR. They have NBA and MLB back.
