FOX booth said he checked up to avoid causing an even bigger wreck and lost several positions doing so.

He didn't have anywhere to go regardless.

Led a ton of laps and had to check up on a nearly crashing Byron. Could have cleaned him out to help his finish, but gave up positions to NOT wreck any more cars.

I just mean as to why he was so upset. He wasn't in contention to win really the entire day outside of when the whole field was saving fuel.

Much like his Boss (and practically anyone who’s strapped on a helmet) he’s a competitor. Nothing gets to a competitor more than being that close and not getting it done. Bubba has two 2nd place finishes in the 500 so it’s become his quest to win it.

I know Chase and Chase fans are disappointed af but I'ma tip my hat to him for not wiping Reddick off the map, the closing rate looked too much to defend, so good on him and still had a chance at it.
