Goodyear Racing Notes: EchoPark Speedway
Goodyear will bring a new right-side tire for this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at EchoPark Speedway, aligning the construction with the Goodyear Racing Eagle tires used at other tracks of the same length.
The new right-side tire will be paired with the same left-side tire that has raced in Atlanta since 2023.
Since the track was repaved and reconfigured to become a superspeedway in 2022, it has had an extremely smooth surface that does not create much tire wear.
NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series teams will run the same Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setups as they have at this track since 2022.
“Typically, the tires we use at EchoPark Speedway are only used at this track, and its smooth surface doesn’t naturally lead to much tire wear,” said Rick Heinrich, Goodyear NASCAR product manager. “As such, we develop tires that encourage wear, and we have seen consistently good racing here since it became a superspeedway.”
