Finish could have been better had Bell pitted, but Bell stayed out and Herbst got stuck 2 laps down.

Oh well, I'll take a 25th.

Poorly worded sentence. Herbst could have had a much better result if Bell didn't stay out in a stage 2 yellow. It trapped him 2 laps down.

Congrats to Hocevar.

I hadn’t heard even looked at this thread and was thinking I had a pretty good day considering I picked Gillian’s then saw basically everyone else did too. :XXROFL:

That being said I didn’t realize it while watching, but we received a nice gift, according to Pockrass on X.

Apparently, I’m not sure which caution, but he received a waive around when he was not eligible. NASCAR didn’t realize it until later and acknowledged it after the race but said that it was too late to fix and let it go, keeping his 11th place finish.

Congratulations to @DC76 , the recipient of the "Highest Finishing Pick" award, as his pick of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. managed to survive the Big One on his way to a sixth place finish in the Jack's Link 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

The top of the leader board saw @Clutch pull into a dead even tie for first place with @TommyGunn after having methodically narrowed the margin of his lead following each of the last several races.

The Top Five Club kept @hmmm298 and @ken in the mix but @Michfan took advantage of a disappointing finish by the pick made by @aunty dive and rejoined the club in fifth place in the standings.

Along with @TommyGunn ending his streak of picking the fourth place finisher in five consecutive races, @FLRacingFan and @Clutch had their streaks of picking a Top Ten finisher in five consecutive races come to an end.

The "Most Upward Movement" award was taken by @DC76 when he was able to gain thirteen points relative to the leader and five positions in the standings.

Finally, the "Slipping & Sliding" award was hauled off by @RayinTX, who like @donthaveanickname and @Blaze in the previous races, was saddled with a "NO PICK" which caused a drop of twenty-two points relative to the leader as well as a slide of three spots in the standings.

That doggone big hat wearin' silver spoon havin' driver of the #3 Chevy couldn't maintain his position for 200 more yards! That's all I needed- but no! Now I gotta share this view from the top with another! Oh well- another way to look at it is i used a 2nd tier driver and am still in 1st. That's Talladega for ya'!
