Hocevar has been pretty consistent, so definitely a solid choice.

That being said, it's Heim time!
I was going to with him or Buescher. I think Hocevar is a bigger risk, hero or zero type of pick but he is on a hot steak.
It can always goes from sugar to shiet in just a moment.

I'm tempted by the 8 this week. There's a new crew chief, and the "Hawthorne Effect" is an actual thing. They qualified well, and I sorta gotta use that car somewhere. But the turn 2 wall is also an actual thing... I'm scared off by that... :idunno:

Honestly, you can say the same thing about every other driver. The elite drivers average about 20 top 10's per season, that's 16 races outside the top 10.

Darn it I forgot to submit my pick looks like I’ll be dropping down a lot more
I was going with herbst we’ll see how big of a mistake I made. good luck to everyone

Congratulations to @ken and @LibertyU24, the recipients of the "Highest Finishing Pick" award, as their pick of Denny Hamlin came "close but no cigar" with a second place finish in the Wurth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway.

The top of the leader board saw @Clutch use the seventh place finish of Carson Hocevar to blow past @TommyGunn after sitting in a dead even tie for first place after the last race.

The Top Five Club remained intact with @TommyGunn, @hmmm298, @ken and @Michfan although @ken took over third place in the standings with his pick of Hamlin.

After several streaks of picking a Top Ten finishing driver came to an end after the last race, @Hawaii808, @LewTheShoe and @LibertyU24 have been able to do it in each of the last two races.

The "Most Upward Movement" award was shared by @ken and @LibertyU24 when they each moved five points closer to the leader while @superchuck500 gained five spots in the standings with his pick of fourth place finisher Daniel Suarez.

The "Slipping & Sliding" award was reluctantly taken by @Spotter22 , the 2024 game champion, after his pick of Christopher Bell got clipped by a spinning Todd Gilliland and was forced out of the race, resulting in @Spotter22 getting clobbered with a thirty-one point loss relative to the leader and a drop of eight spots in the standings.

Not to be forgotten is the fact that as a result of that misfortune, Bell finished dead last meaning that @Spotter22 also got stuck with the "Wiping Up the Rear" award for the second time this race season.

I'm falling like a rock. It looks like this is not my year. The trend of lots of good finishes continued this weekend, and once again, I wasn't one of them.

And ol'whatshisname has hit rock bottom.

His only place to go is up and he's already gained a spot after @RayinTX withdrew from the game. :puffin:
