Bonehead of the Week: Dover

thanks, seems like there is a lot more going on than she said and she said a lot. Interesting how ready the team seemed to bring her into the garage as well. But I’d have to speculate a lot to know what it all is.

I really believe her team and Crew Chief knew at that moment if she stayed out on the track things were going to only get worse so bringing her to the garage and remaining calm as he did and as supportive as he could be was the best thing he could do at that moment. I really believe the Crew Chief handled the situation perfectly.

Obviously, Natalie Decker at that moment although she was saying she was trying to keep it together was not really keeping it together. The best thing for her is what she suggested at least for now is to stick with the O' Reilly Series and just stay away from the Truck Series. The sad thing is now wherever she goes this breakdown is always going to be hanging over her head.

Decker is the low hanging fruit but I’m going with whoever the dummy was that thought a Dover All Star race would be good

The best thing Natalie Decker could do is decide to go run in ARCA and give up on this dream of becoming a professional NASCAR driver. She's been doing this for a really long time and not only has she not gotten better. In fact, she's only gotten worse. There was a point when she ran in ARCA where she showed a small sliver of potential. Since then, it's been all downhill.

That said, I love a good redemption arc and it would genuinely make me happy if she went out and won an ARCA race or something.

But I don't think she's cut out for this mentally or physically. Not at this level. Perhaps she should spend some time racing Late Models back home in Wisconsin and just try to have fun.

My pick is NASCAR for an awful format for the All-Star race. How can you have a format where the series' most popular driver and two former champions get knocked out contention of having any shot at winning the million? NASCAR has neutered the All-Star race and The Clash. Time for both to go away.

That's funny. I have never thought any more of them than the exhibition races they are. Thinly veiled as "real" races.

Can't eliminate them. FOX contract requires those races.

Never understand it. People can walk away with their feet but they watch knowing what it is going to be anyway.

She may reach that realization at some point that where she belongs is the ARCA Series. There are several drivers in the ARCA Series that seem to just race to race and not for the possibility of moving up to the O' Reilly Series and eventually the Cup Series. I actually enjoy watching the ARCA series because you get to see a 15 year old race and win a race like just this past week in Tristan McKee and he is running against drivers like Alex Clubb.
