I don’t know how to categorize myself as a NASCAR cup fan. I watch most of the races and like most of them. I try and stay away from ragging on NASCAR. If I ever think it’s that bad I’ll go do something else.

I do miss the races but I’ve got plenty to do so a couple of weeks off are fine. I really like the idea of shop employees getting a break.

I was happy it wasn’t at 2:30 central like some other races.

I can only imagine the outrage if his resignation came during big time pro or college ball game! People might turn into zombies😅

Really good post and I know what you mean. I would really appreciate it if NASCAR could become more consistent in the calls officials make. They ignore the obvious and penalize the obscure.

5. I wish I could give a better rating as I want this race to succeed. The clown show at the end was disappointing. I admit I hate overtime but I’m sure even those who like it would like to see things cleaned up.

NASCAR officiating has always been wildly inconsistent in my opinion and I’ve been a fan for many years. One driver will get 50k fine and a 25 point deduction for an incident and another driver will do the same thing and get nothing. Right or wrong it’s just the way it is so if consistency is...

Ideally you’d like to see uniformity when it comes to discipline but NASCAR is not known for consistency. It’s just how it is.

I thought that the Larson incident and corresponding suspension would get his attention but obviously I was wrong. If he ends up with a 25 point deduction from the incident with Bowman it will all but eliminate him from the playoffs.

I thought the Chicago race would remain on NBC due to its popularity but I don’t know what the ins and outs are.

First things first. It sounds like you have a great wife! I hope the last bit of her pregnancy goes really well. I would love to see this event run the scheduled amount of laps in dry weather. I hope you can attend next year!

I read on Jayski that last year’s race had 4.8 million viewers and this year’s had 3.87 or about 23% less. Almost 4 million viewers is really good and could end up being the NBC networks highest rated race all year.

I read that the event was expecting 100k in attendance but had 79k which is still good. I’m not sure if they used ticket sales or some other method to say the race had 79k. Apparently general admission was $294, $432 for general admission plus & club experiences started @ $840.

My bonehead goes to Bubba. It’s not unusual for drivers to be mad at each other but Bubba seems at another level. I think he needs professional help to overcome this rage.
