What did you think of the Martinsville call?

Right. BUT the can of worms is open. Regardless of how unnecessary it was, Bell broke a safety rule and Nascar can't undo that. Even though it isn't fair, they can't just say "well, it's okay that you broke a safety rule because you shouldn't been in that position". Yeah, this is where I am it...

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

Well thats my point. Let me explain my logic a bit more clearly. Larson finished 7 points behind Byron, which is 7 positions on track. If that race manipulation didn't happen, it naturally ends tightly between Bell and Byron. So the only way Larson justifiably gets IN where this makes sense...

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

As much as I love that, it's just so hard to really justify. How much further back does Byron fall without the blocking? Does he lose 7 more spots? If that manipulation prevented him from dropping 7 spots, then I agree. But can we really prove that? This just goes back to what we discussed...

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

Larson deserves to be there, and the luck has costed him, and I'd be happy. But within the context of the actual format, he deserves to be eliminated and had his shot today. As much is id love it, it would be just as disastrous and screwed up.

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

Also, as a Carl Edwards fan at heart who never got to truly, and I mean TRULY enjoy "my driver winning a championship", these things are just tough to swallow 2008 and 2011 were miserable.

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

What the hell makes you say that?

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

It's tricky because unlike Harvick in 2020, and Larson this season, Elliott DID make the final 4 and had his shot. The speed they had all year fell off of a cliff. If they found it in the playoffs and won, it would have been his second deserved titled. But he still was able to get there. Larson...

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

Which is what will happen if Byron wins it this year.

If Kyle Larson is the greatest driver in the world

It's frustrating. Despite all the mistakes he's made this season, he still was by far the best driver. Sure, he screwed himself at Homestead. But zero stage points at Vegas and Homestead ultimately are what cost him a deserved final 4 spot. We can tool on him for wrecking himself and making...

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

I would love either to be honest. Still bitter about Larson. Most wins. Most laps lead. Most stage wins... But wait for it ... Points leader without reset. Two wins in the playoffs, most laps lead in the playoffs, and has had race winning cars in 3/4 of the 9 races. This should be his second...

Johali's Rate the Cup race --- Martinsville

    0. This wasn't a race. It was reality tv.

    Cup RACE thread: Martinsville

Larson was still behind Bell, who's official finishing position is last car on the lead lap. He would have been 3 points above Larson. William getting DQ'd would put him p6. See what I mean? There's just no way we can make sense of this. There was so much manipulation. I think Nascar should...

Right. So what happens in that case? Bell lost 4 spots from the penalty. So they penalized him..... 4 spots? It's just nonsense. It's all nonsense.

We also have to remember Larson backing off of Brad to help a Chevy win.

    Cup RACE thread: Martinsville

You seem to be thinking this was the right call there can't be a right call.. I don't like the idea of Byron holding off for Larson / Chase. I would have been happy of course, but it feels sour. This is just different because it has a bunch of drivers manipulating the outcome of the race...

We can't have it one way man. He wouldn't have had to broken the rule if there wasn't confirmed race manipulation by the Chevies over the radio. This can't be overlooked. It's a ****** up call and Nascar sends the message that teams can manipulate the outcome of the race without consequence...
