    Indiana Sprint Week '24

So much carnage this week and along with it a lot of hurt feelings.

:( Weiss and his crew are in fact appearing on the St. Croix County inmate list as having been arrested today. Getting convicted of a felony for a non-US Citizen probably won't help him any.

    Silly Season 2025

Corey going down to become a fixture in Xfinity would be sort of poetic given his dad. I dunno how well the economics fit that now for 2025 but it at least hits some nostalgia notes for me.

    Corey LaJoie: Please Explain.

I guess the explanation is "You'll see him run part time in the CARS Tour next year on Flo".

I did. Kenny didn't get a chance at a full career but he didn't manage to make waves with Roush when Roush was ROUSH. Swap in JJ Yeley if it makes you feel better.

Also, here's a full race if you want that from this year: Corey Day goes 15th to 1st and just dominates this show against a ton of heavy hitters including Larson himself.

He primarily runs dirt 410 sprints in the High Limit series; last year he ran the full NARC schedule, which is basically the regional 410 series for the west coast and won the title in dominant fashion. To my knowledge, he has only one appearance on a pavement track: 4/27/2024 at Hickory where...

At this point, I'm gonna let Corey Day do his thing. If Corey Day does Corey Day Things in ARCA/Trucks/Xfinity, he's gonna be a bonafide star. Like a STAR star, the kind NASCAR hasn't had in a minute. Or he winds up being Kenny Irwin Jr. That's the floor.

If you were following and attending NASCAR races in the 1960s, yeah dogg. You have a lot more practical experience about that than I do and as long as what you say follows the historical record, I'm gonna defer to you. I'm on another forum right now getting ready to start a thread asking people...

    Kyle Larson Appreciation Thread

"Kyle Larson in NASCAR" is very much Kyle Larson. If you are a big Kyle Larson fan, it makes a lot of sense for you to watch him in NASCAR because it is a thing he does and he is obviously extremely good at it. It doesn't make a lot of sense for someone to be a big Kyle Larson fan but not watch...

Sure is. Will also be racing Bristol and Kansas now for ARCA.

    NASCAR needs timed finishes

In 2023, 25% of all races ended in OT, which means they went past the 400/500 mile or lap mark the name of the race likely carried. In addition, there are plenty of races which have ended early due to weather. I don't think establishing a 4 hour time limit for a 500 mile race is an impossibility...

Nothing incorrect with what I said. Maybe I've been confused all this time, but I was under the impression that you could be a fan of NASCAR and be a fan of other racing series. I certainly qualify myself as having met that threshold. Have things changed where NASCAR fans can't watch other...

I think you can absolutely be both a fan of NASCAR and Kyle Larson. Nothing I've said has indicated otherwise.

It isn't a question of semantics at all. If you are a fan of NASCAR and Kyle Larson only in the context of NASCAR, you aren't a fan of Kyle Larson! You're a fan of NASCAR! The majority of races he'll enter this year will be non-NASCAR races. That variety in competition is directly a result of...

Again, and this ties into one of your posts on the thread about time limits: there are NASCAR fans and then there are fans of the drivers and/or motorsports in general. If you are a NASCAR fan and you would prefer that Kyle Larson would race only in NASCAR, I get it. That makes sense. What does...

    NASCAR needs timed finishes

Indycar also has time limits for the road/street races. The standard for those is two hours.

    Kyle Larson Appreciation Thread

There being "no rules for fandom" doesn't make fans any less entitled when they engage in complaining about the object of their fandom's interest in things they as fans don't care for. I get it, no one wants to be called entitled for having an opinion like "Kyle Larson should only race in...
