Cup RACE thread --- Talladega, Rd. 2

Chase is still on the lead lap and it looks like the car is still running fast enough to meet minimum speed. All he needs to do is limp around and he’ll outlast a lot of others

Cup RACE thread --- Talladega, Rd. 2

It’s Chevy vs Ford and the two best plate racers are leading the trains

It's pretty much a motorcycle gearbox.

    '21 Generation 7 Car news

Austin Dillon hints that the Gen 7 has roughly 700lbs less downforce than the current cars. Oh, and sequential gearboxes.

    What's your unpopular NASCAR opinion?

Modern drivers are by far and away more talented than Earnhardt, Cale, Petty ever were. All the old-time "wheel men" couldn't hold a candle to Erik Jones let alone the Kyle Busch's of the sport.

Wow, a diffuser on a stock car? And that small rear decklid looks very mustang-ish.

    Rule changes for 2020

2015 was probably one of the worst years of racing ever. You're delusional if you'd want to go back to that.

    Rule changes for 2020

I would have liked to have seen a tweak to the short track/road course aero package but overall these are good changes that will save teams $$$

I mean, do we really need pit stops in ARCA or K&N?

    Who is your champion?

It's pretty sad but just don't see a Chevy making the final 4 again for the 3rd year in a row. Hell, I'd consider it a win if more than 1 bowtie even makes it to the final 8.

A Race Win That Saved A Career

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Brad K's first win at 2009 Talladega. Without it he probably fades into history and loses his ride.

    Who is the NASCAR GOAT?

I think Kyle Busch will crack that group when all is said and done. He has a legit chance of breaking Gordon's win record.

Rate The Cup Race: Michigan 2

    8. The package definitely improved this track, but that's still not saying much. This track, like Pocono, rarely produces good racing no matter what the package.

    2019 Michigan -- Consumers Energy 400 -- Pre-Race Thread

ahh yes, they stickied up the Kyle Larson line. It's not like he was already really good here or anything.

Deadline on charter system extension nearing

Yep, it's absolutely insane that 65% of the TV revenue goes straight to tracks that are used one, maybe two weekends a year. Plus they keep all the gate receipts and race sponsorship 100% to themselves. NASCAR has never had a more lucrative TV deal than it does now and yet we see record low...

What Do you Think of the New Package?

For the armchair drivers who think this package is so easy to drive: https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2019/07/30/ryan-nascar-listening-to-cup-drivers-more-without-council/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Rate The Cup Race: Pocono 2

6.7. Watched it all but aside from restarts it was pretty strung out.

    2019 New Hampshire -- Foxwoods Casino 301-- Pre-Race Thread

Call me crazy, but I actually think the 550 package would do great here. It's really similar to the modified cars with their restrictor plate setup and that produces great racing.

    Rate The Cup Race: Kentucky

8.75. This package rocks on 1.5er's
