    Cup RACE thread --- Daytona

I don't disagree with the point but I think that all the "what if's" are exactly the problem. We get a constant bubble watch saying "if" the stage or race ended now but "oh wait" IF this driver wins the bubble moves up." It's exhausting. I understand I am old-school and what's in the past is...

    Cup RACE thread --- Daytona

NASCAR needs to get rid of it and just have the playoffs set by points and give maybe like 25 bonus points for a win. I'd like playoff points removed too - it removes drama from the playoffs. In the NFL comparison imagine if they said OK the number one sees gets 17 points on the board to start...

Unless TR crashes early it's over.

    Cup RACE thread --- Daytona

I really just don' t enjoy these "plate" races anymore like I used to. It just seems like a parade waiting to crash and the guys that finish up front are mostly just lucky. I guess as they say I'd rather be lucky than good. It's cool to see Burton get his first win but let's not start trying...

Kudos to NASCAR for doing the right thing...even if it took too long to come to the decision.

Yeah - it's a joke. I honestly cannot believe anyone who supports what Dillon did. Now I really don't like Joey Logano but in this instance, he drove clean and Dillion just plain got beat and would not accept it. Is this where the sport is heading? Drive clean to get dumped so another...

    Cup RACE thread --- Richmond

Yeah - just don't understand the delayed reaction here. If they DQ'd him Sunday night no one would have questioned it and we could all move on. They are probably just milking the publicity now. This stupid crap is the only thing that gets NASCAR the type of national attention it used to get.

Except none of those were anywhere near as blatant as what the 3 did. There is a difference between bumping and rubbing and driving THROUGH someone.

Now THAT is great racing. Sucks that Denny got hurt but that is hard racing to the line. I remember what I really did not like was how snarky Logano was about it saying "that's what he gets." Now I am sure Logano did not know he was hurt but he should have known it was possible.

    Cup RACE thread --- Richmond

You know what really sucks? What's lost in all this is that we have an awesome battle for regular season champ going right now. 3 guys within 6 points of each other with 3 races to go. Should be fun to see to the end. Still think Larson has it though so long as he gets stage points....which...

    Cup RACE thread --- Richmond

I think as far as Larson's lack of feedback sometimes there is nothing that can be done. I mean if the balance is good and the car is driving good and the issue is that everyone is running the same speed pretty much then what can you do. Richmond is such a temperamental track that if you're in...

    Cup RACE thread --- Richmond

People should have been mad about that. What Rudd did there is what Earnhardt built a career and legacy out of and I don't recall a win being taken from him like it should have at Bristol with Terry Laboante. What Rudd did there and what Dilion did last night are not even on the same planet...

Probably true...and a useless penalty that will not stop the next guy from doing it.

    Cup RACE thread --- Richmond

This is why Elton Sawyer is just not the guy. When asked if that crossed the line he said something about it "being up against the line." Really? What would be crossing the line then?

    Cup RACE thread --- Richmond

Sometimes "wow" is all I can say. I understand some people liked that and will defend it but for me that was just **** racing and a product of "win and you're in." I completely understand why the 3 did it but just like with Chase and Suarez a few weeks ago at Chicago - There is a difference...

Nascar Cup at the Indy Oval Pre-Race Thread

I see it going to PPV at some point in the next 10-20 years. I'd be fine with that. I already pay $350 per year to watch my favorite football team because they are out of my market. I would not mind paying something similar for NASCAR if I can watch when I want to (not live) and have in car...

Nascar Cup at the Indy Oval Pre-Race Thread

All that is fine and good and it's important to celebrate what's going right but I have concerns if this is sustainable as is. Plus you are still drinking the Kool-Aid on the "sell-out" thing. Yes some tracks are technically sold out per advertisement but this is only after tons of seat have...

Nascar Cup at the Indy Oval Pre-Race Thread

Because people reflect on the past to remember what has gone right and wrong to learn from it. For me, there's no question part of NASCAR's issue is just generational in that people have lost their attention span in the social media age but it's also because of changes they have made that have...

Nascar Cup at the Indy Oval Pre-Race Thread

I was born in Milford, CT about 45 mins from NYC. Now that I think about it, not many "city folk" were interested and we found NASCAR after moving to rural New England. Must be too much to do in the big city. I'll be down in the Bronx for a Yankee game later this month. Always love to visit...

Nascar Cup at the Indy Oval Pre-Race Thread

Just curious what area you live in...NASCAR really hit it big first in the southeast in the 50's-70's and then really started becoming more popular in the North after that. In the Northeastern US where I live you were hard-pressed to find people that were not at least casually interested in the...
