5. Boring as hell, with cars being unable to pass anyone in traffic (as evidenced by Harvick being able to move past no one once he got out of the fresh air). Winner made it better though.

The problem with that logic is the cars like the 00 or the 32 or the 51, etc. They get lapped so often, if the caution falls when they just got lapped for the 13th time do they really deserve a lap back? Why not simplify the idea? 1st person one lap down gets their lap back. 1st person two laps...

Hoping Chase got his bad luck out of the way with unfortunate getting caught up in someone else's wreck at Vegas. But Dega doesn't usually work that way.

A month and a Chase Elliott win later, it's clear the Hendrick Chevy's definitely found some upgrades. Hopefully they keep working and find some more.

Chase has been the 3rd (maybe even 2nd) fastest car in the playoffs so far. It sucks that bull**** like that is gonna cause him to be eliminated.

He is, but the problem with that is they implemented this entire system to avoid this. That being said, it would be hard to argue Chase hasn't been a top 8 driver this year. Literally one of the most consistent drivers this year. The only thing missing is the win.

That conversation couldn't have been more harmless. Newman is a buffoon, but hardly going to fault him for fighting there with NASCAR's penchant to throw a "make it interesting" caution at the end of races. Unfortunately Chase Elliott isn;t very good.

It doesn't mean they don't have to improve the team. They need to find speed if they want to assure their spot in the playoffs and if they get there get out of the first round. But they aren't exactly teetering on the edge with 2 races left.

That's not true at all. The only threat to the 24 and the 20/1 getting in the playoffs at this point is new winners.

Seems like nothing ever works out for the 24...with regards to finishing the race in P1 at least. So frustrating.
