Key being it took weird circumstances to win. You could consider Hemric that but at least he was really consistent that year sort of had a Matt Kenseth type championship.
I'd argue Bill Rexford is weaker but that was a different era. Travis Kvapil also was pretty weak compared to some of the other drivers coming up in his era.
It's not really making fun of of NASCAR tbh. It's just a satire of America in the late 2000s. Unfortunately the director thinks he's brighter than he is and each of his movies has got worse.
I wonder who some of the young drivers will be. And cameos of other NASCAR celebrities. This is like the right window to make it before everybody that remembers the first is too old.
