8.74 I enjoyed it, but I would have like to see a little more aggression at the end.

NASCAR team owner says sport should enact a spending cap

Enforcing a spending cap seems all but impossible. For example, Haas could move all their R&D to separate company and then sell parts to the racing team on a loss. A salary cap is illegal unless their is a collective bargaining agreement in place.

NASCAR Announces 2018 National Series Driver Participation Guidelines

From what i see these other teams are either funded by ride buyers or are teams on a shoestring budget. My understanding is that teams owned by the cup drivers lose about a million dollars a year on average. These guys do it because the love to race. I can't see then absorbing a larger loss...

NASCAR Announces 2018 National Series Driver Participation Guidelines

Brad would be forced to shut his team down. No Cups driver = Sponsor pays a lot less = team loses money = team shut down.

NASCAR Announces 2018 National Series Driver Participation Guidelines

I fully expect the teams owned by cup drivers to close down. They won't be able to get sponsor dollars to cover the costs and it's not worth it to lose money on a team that you can't drive for.

I hope they go below a 1.0 rating this year, because at that point Brian France should get fired.

    Hunting for new manufacturers

Car companies compete in NASCAR to sell pickup trucks (NASCAR fans like them a lot) so it wouldn't make any sense for Honda or VAG to enter NASCAR. This announcement just sounds like a lot of hot air from a reeling NASCAR administration.

NASCAR teams feel pressure on sponsor pricing

Big money sponsors bring a lot of baggage with them that NASCAR doesn't need. The racing will be better without them. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

    Shocking financials...

Not a Dam thing. Someone will be racing some form of stock cars for the next 30 years. There will be plenty of racing to watch.

    Shocking financials...

You guys are way to concerned over the fates of Millionaires and Billionaires. If NASCAR can't figure it out, then something will take it's place. Hell, the tickets will probably be cheaper and you won't need some stupid Cable Channel that you don't want.

    Playoff Outlook

I can honestly say that I don't know how the points work. I think wins count, but points count from stage wins once the playoffs start as a bonus, but points from finishes only count towards making the chase err playoffs (whatever?) and then the stage wins count towards the bonus?

Great Clips exercise option to end Kasey Kahne contract early

The CEO of Great Clips is leaving. http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2017/01/20/great-clips-ceo-rhoda-olsen-will-leave-post-at.html It doesn't really make financial sense to be a sponsor if you are just in it for the advertising. It's much more about the perks that management gets...
